Banfield Pet Hospital in Reston, Virginia - Didn't know the correct treatment for my pet

My dog had Pneumonia and Banfield didn't know how to give the correct treatment to him. He was near death and I went and got him from banfield and took him to the ASPCA and they saved him. I was told he had severe pneumonia by the ASPCA. One of the veterinarian told me there was nothing else she could do for my dog and sent him home in the bad condition that he was in with meds that wasn't helping for him at all. It is in my opinion that banfield has veterinarian's that have no Idea of what they are doing, and need to return school to improve their knowledge on how to give the very best treatment that there is to our beloved pets.

TRUE! The vets @ banfield know NOTHING: all my questions are answered by saying: 1) I'm not sure or

2) I'll check on that and call you

never a call, now they don't answer my calls. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE :(((

It was not made clear in the slightest to us that this was a "financing" of our pets care. We are still paying for a dog that has passed.

It was not an "Option" for us to pay monthly. It was the way they sold us the service. If it had been a yearly rate, we would have paid the yearly rate. But that was not a choice we were given.

They probably don't offer that because they want the pet program to seem cheap. We were offered no remorse for the death of our dog and Banfield will no longer receive money for the other two dogs that are still alive.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Clementon, New Jersey - Banfield The Pet Hospital Mt Laurel NJ

I took my sick cat to Banfield Mt Laurel Hospital. The nurse Patty who was also some sort of Director came there first and rudely told me there that their new Dr Paula and Wiseman are exremely incompetent and slow vets. It would take them at least 3 hours before they can see my kitty. Meanwhile she started yelling at one of the nurses. Then she turned back and told me that she is doing this on the request of Fielding Director who is not happy at all with this nurse and also the new doctor Paula. I have not seen such a rude pet nurse in my life. She does not have the guts to work as a pet nurse. If it was my hospital, I would just fire Patty who talks against her own staff in front of customers.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Miami, Florida - Banfield Hospital broke my dog's leg.

I took my 4 month old Boxer to Banfield for her regular check up and shots. After waiting for a while they informed me a vet tech had dropped her and she had a broken leg. I took her to another hospital where she had surgery and they put a metal plate, pins and screws on her leg. Banfiend paid for the expenses but not my headaches. Now my dog has other issues related to the broken leg they caused. She has hip problems and will never be a nomal dog. Thank you Banfield for destroying my life and my dog's health forever.

I'm sorry that your dog has a broken leg, but it seems to me that Banfield did the right thing by paying for corrective surgery. Not sure why Your life would be ruined forever.

Dogs are resilient.

As long as Banfield continues to pay for your dogs care related to her injury, I'm not quite sure why you're upset. Accidents happen, they admitted to it, told you what happened and did the right thing.

Last comment is very true. It really destroyed your life?? That's a little dramatic.

I'm sure it was an accident and the tech who dropped her felt awful about it. And boxers can have hip problems in general so don't automatically blame those on the broken leg.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Washington, District Of Columbia - NO MORE Wellness hours. PIttsburgh pa

I just went to banfield in northway mall and was told that no more wellness hours on monday and thurs....... I drove a long way to get here and about 12 months ago, they did have wellness hours to accomodate people....... Why did they start wellness and then take it away? I feel like they led people on and wanted to generate traffic and loyalty. Now I am not only pissed, but their name is bad in my mind. I have a private rescue of breed specific dogs but will forward this complaint to corporate as well as to my petfinder list of fosters and contacts. I live in a nearby county but word of mouth spreads rapidly

You are devaluing the physical exam given by the vet. Every pet should get a complete physical exam when getting vaccines.

GET OVER IT!

Everybody wants everything for free these days. Do you pay to go see your doctor???

Wellness hours were discontinued a long time ago. Also, we recommend physical exams every 6 months. This way a fecal exam and the kennel cough vaccine can be given

Not all Banfield's have wellness hours. It would make sense to call ahead of time so they can expect your arrival.

Maybe you should have called before you went there. Are you really pissed off that you had to pay for an office visit?

How many Dr's offices do you know that will see you for free? Banfield hasn't had 'Wellness Hours' since June.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Washington, District Of Columbia - NOT diahrea, but WORMS. My dog lost 4 lbs

I went to banfied in pittsburgh and i should have left because they werent busy and they means something when others wont go there. My dog suffered through runny stools off and on . I was told to give him Pepto BIsmal. I noticed this d idnt help a month later, then I was offered a blood test. Then after 2 months I went to another VET who ran a fecal and found 2 types of worms.......Banfield misdiagnosed my beloved Sydney!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wrote to them asking for my money back. I never heard back. they are irresponsible and truly pathetic . THey dindnt treat my dog properly and are just out for a buck. THey never apologized either!! The new vet told me that had gotten scores of Banfield complaints and that the one I went to had the worst reputation of all. Now I am hearing all over the USA, that Banfield is run poorly. I will never go to another one.

Each Banfield operates differently from one another. It would have made sense to me to have had a fecal done, but then not all Banfield's are the same. Sorry the one you went to was poorly ran.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Washington, District Of Columbia - Banfield screws up

I took in my toy dog to Banfield in northway mall Ross twp. SHe had a large tumor and was told she wouldnt be a surgical candidate due to age and her heart condition. I sought a second opinion a month later who told me she needed surgery so i did it. She came through fine, but the advancement of the tumor made it harder for her during operation and the tumor was more invasive. I plan on sueing because I have all of the details... The staff at banfield are losers, inadequate non-profesionals. I felt like i wasted time and energy on this clinic when I should have gone to a non corporate place in the beginning.

You plan on suing? For what, the fact that they didn't feel comfortable doing surgery on your pet?

How is it their fault that you let the tumor get that big before you decided to have it removed?

Great that you got a second opinion, but if the vet doesn't feel comfortable doing surgery, you can't make them do it and you can't sue them for not doing it. Looking for compensation and blaming someone when the only fault is your own.

BTW, why didn't you have the tumor removed when it was small?

#233151

So a doctor feeling that a geriatric pet with a heart condition makes them a bad vet? You even say in your 'complaint' that the operation was hard and invasive.

If a tumor is benign, why remove it?

Why put a dog through anesthesia if the tumor isn't going to metastasize?! If your dog would have died under anesthesia due to the other vet's negligence, would you be complaining about them too?!

It doesnt matter what topical flea treatment I put on my dog, she runs around like a mad dog rubbing on everything and rolling around and acting a fool. I don't believe it has anything to do with the product, she is just wanting to get it off or spread it all over her environment.

Now, if there is irritation at the application site then that is a different story. But, we have been using it for 1 year now without any issues.

Good Luck!
