Banfield Pet Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona - Banfield @ S Mountain sucks
Took my rotty in due to loss of appetite. They thought he was nauseous and gave him some drugs. Didn't even work. They even said that it was in a rotty's breed to attack without warning. At the end, they wanted to sell me pet insurance, flea collars, x-rays, etc. The bill would have been well over $1,000.00. It's one of the worse Vet I have ever seen. I've been a dog owner for over 20 years. I had to feed real chicken and science diet in a can, before my dog's appetite returned on his own.
Banfield Pet Hospital in Seattle, Washington - FirstSheild Works Great!
I purchased FirstSheild from Banfield The Pet Hospital today and applied the medication to my cat roughly, two hours ago. Initially it seemed as if there was perhaps a little more activity than usual from the fleas as I watched my cat scratch and nip at her fur and skin after I first applied the medication (she did this off and on-- for roughly 30min.) However, now she is sleeping happily in my lap without irritation as I'm literally watching the fully dead and dying fleas leaping and falling from her coat onto the towel in my lap that she is currently nestled on. This is the longest she's happily slept in my lap without being preoccupied by her fleas in months! She seems quite happy and I am ecstatic. I'm sorry to hear of all of the negative experiences you here have had. I'm especially sorry for your beloved pets but am happy to know that there are so many caring people out there with a heart full of love to share with these here babies of ours.
I as well as many others know the scary truth about Dr. Jaime Pickett. She will charge services that she does not actually perform. For instance, if a cat dies while in the back treatment area, she will charge CPR and other injections and then inform the owner, when in...
first shield trio, vectra 3d?? WHY WAS THIS NAMED CHANGED? WERE THERE TOO MANY LAWSUITS FOR DEATH IN PEOPLES PETS?? INSTEAD OF ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM OR TRYING TO ADJUST THE AMOUNTS OF TOXINS IN THE MEDICATION, YOU JUST CHANGED THE NAME!?!?! THIS WILL KILL YOUR PETS...
Banfield Pet Hospital in Chicago, Illinois - Dont go to banfield!
All I have to say is DO NOT bring your animal to Banfield Pet Hospital. My rat terrier is not feeling well after a normal check up. He has never been sick a day in his 7 years of life...now he has been coughing and acting like he can't breath right. I called the vet at Banfield and she offers a free exam. She then told me it is possible he just got ill all of a sudden. I will never take him back there, not even for a free exam, especially after reading all of the previous complaints.
Last week 9/23/2010, my dog Miley was sick and I took her to Banfield, Dr, saw her and told me she has ear infection and allergies I spent that day $429.41., days later Miley had diarrhea, I took her again to the dr. and she took some X-ray and told me Miley swallowed...
Banfield Pet Hospital in Tampa, Florida - First Shield WARNING DO NOT USE!!
I purchased first shield for my dogs at banfield after they no longer carried the others. It has been the worst experience for me and almost killed 1 of the 3 dogs as permethrin is toxic. When i first applied they were crying and rolling around on the ground like mad.. like it was burning them.. which now when i look back and it was. They never have had any reaction to others flea/tick like this one. Not to mention the worst part of it is that they all caught Cheyletiellosis while being on this horrible stuff. They have been suffering for months because of lying people just trying to make a buck. WARNING DO NOT USE!!
Banfield Pet Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona - Banfield cares about your wallet, not your animals
When you have technicians smiling and laughing when they come in to euthanize your dog, what does that tell you about a company? Our local (Arvada, CO) hospital has one good doctor (Dr. Kaveh Sarhangpur) and four good nurses/techs (Diane, Lani, Howard, and a lady with a pug named "Eowyn"), but almost every other person we ran into (including the other doctors) was rude, insensitive, and clearly concerned only about whatever money they could get from us when we were there or getting us off the phone as quickly as possible when we weren't. When Brock got sick last year, only Dr. Sarhangpur and the techs mentioned above actually cared. When he stopped eating, we called immediately and were blown off. First, it was "It's nothing serious; every dog stops eating, he's just spoiled. Give it another day or two." This was despite our pointing out that he'd stopped eating for two days already, and this was the MacGyver of gluttons. Brock was one of the smartest dogs I've ever seen, and after we kept wondering how he'd get food off the kitchen table, my wife walked down the stairs and saw him in action; he pushed the chair back, jumped up onto the chair to get to the table (and the food), then (believe it or not), pushed the chair back into place afterward so he wouldn't get punished! This was one smart (and motivated) dog. Yet according to Banfield, he was just not in the mood to eat. That was followed the next day by, "He probably just has a flu. Give it a few more days." The third time (day #5), we got Dr. Sarhangpur on the line and he immediately had us bring Brock in, and found his white blood cell count was completely off and that there was something seriously wrong with him. During the following week, very few of the staff members could even pretend to care, though they were big fans of repeating the exact same blood tests that were showing absolutely nothing, along with all sort of worthless X-rays and ultrasounds. Every time we turned around, it was "this test is going to cost $X, can you afford that," and several even stooped to blatant emotional blackmail to dig even deeper into our pockets. If it was motivated by a desire to save Brock's life, I could understand (my wife and I were deeply devoted to our Pug), but it wasn't. Instead of saving our limited resources for tests that might actually help find out what was going on, why he was sick, and possibly curing him, it was all about getting us to pay for unrelated big ticket items that did absolutely nothing; X-rays, ultrasounds, and more blood tests than I could count. We both got the very strong impression that they were floundering about either in incompetence or complete disinterest, and my money would be on the latter. After nearly a week and a half, we'd spent thousands of dollars (even getting a loan from Banfield that they were quick to push at us) and still didn't have the first clue what was going on. Not even a hint, but we'd run out of money at this point and couldn't go any further. The next mortgage payment was going to be late and our car had completely died that week (else we would have driven to another vet) and we just couldn't do any more. No big deal for Banfield, though. We were sitting in one of the exam rooms; my wife has tears streaming down her eyes and I'm doing my best not to completely lose it when the technician comes in and quite cheerfully says to us, "Okay, so we're putting your dog down. How are you going to pay for that?" This said in the same tone of voice as a normal person might say, "hey, congratulations on your new baby!" Yeah... "Hey, congratulations on killing a member of your family. I got my nails done earlier, though, so I'm happy!" I could go into much more detail, but this incident pretty much sums it up with Banfield. We purchased the wellness plan because we didn't have a lot of savings at the time and figured it would give us the best possible care for our animals, but my wife and I are absolutely convinced that Banfield as a whole has no concern whatsoever for the welfare of your animals. All they are is an investment and a source of money to these guys and the techs couldn't care less whether they're healthy or sick, and whether they live or die. It's been over a year now since we lost Brock, and we still have his litter mate, Bailey (who will never again see the inside of a Banfield facility), but I still wonder if Brock would still be alive if the wife and I had gone to a different veterinary hospital. They do have some good people, but the greedy mercenaries that run this company should be running an oil company, not an organization that's supposed to care for living beings.
Banfield Pet Hospital in Plano, Texas - Banfield Vet Hospital - First shield flea med
I also am disappointed with this medication. I had never used topical flea treatments before and was suprised by how expensive it was. I asked for a recommendation from the Banfield Vet and they recommended their First Shield brand which was slightly cheaper, but "just as effective". The box says it's suppose to kill fleas within 6 hours of use or something like that. Too bad I gave my dog a bath last night and picked off at least 15 fleas off of her!! Who knows how many fleas are still on her! I'm going to say the medicine is NOT "just as effective". The treatment also made her greasy for days. I had to put a sweater on her to relieve any concern that the medicine would get on furniture and bedding. It also has a pretty strong odor. I would like more than anything to return the medicine, but it sounds like they have a *** policy. I'll never buy Banfield products again. I'm switching to the more expensive Advantage as I have friends who swear by it. This is what I get for trying to save money.
Banfield Pet Hospital in Everett, Washington - Banfield Pet - Local Silverdale Vet Great, Billing HORRIBLE
I had 2 dogs on the Wellness Plan, last January my cute girl Aussie named Pepper had an eye issue which seemed to be healing, but 2 weeks later when going in for her Dental cleaning her eyesight was failing. They didn't do the Cleaning but instead did a major exam on her, and found her to have Lymphoma. Dr Gusman is an excellent vet, did his best with her but in 4 weeks (and a lot of expensive visits) was gone. Two months later we had to change credit card numbers and the Banfield auto payment for Pepper didn't clear. I disputed that I should still be paying for a pet months after she died when she didn't get the major workup of the Wellness plan. I settled the claimed account balance of $ 202 for about $ 60 with the local office, only to be told the next time I was in that they submitted for the full amount to collections. I AM LIVID.
