Banfield Pet Hospital in Summerfield, Florida - Prescribed First Shield Trio...bad product!!!

I am a customer of Banfield. They prescribed First Shield Trio (flea, tick, mosquitoes). My poor little dog is suffering. I have had dogs for many, many years, taken good care of them, and ALWAYS took them for their shots and exams, teeth cleaning and in general, all their health needs were up to day, so I DO know something. I don't want to be "questioned" on how to apply a flea and tick medicine!! This product is the worst I have ever seen! My pup has more fleas now than ever!! I gave it a chance by performing the second application the next month, and wow, more fleas, I even found a tick on the poor dog. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!! IT WON'T WORK, AND DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU DIFFERENT!!! DON'T LET THEM CONVINCE YOU THAT IS JUST THE WAY FOLKS ARE APPLYING IT OR USING IT (BATHING FOR EXAMPLE). I AM GOING TO CALL BANFIELD, AND IF I HAVE ONE MORE MISTAKE MADE BY THESE PEOPLE, I AM QUITTING THEM ENTIRELY! ( I DO BELIVE I GOT AN EXPERIENCED VET ONCE, AND I DID NOT LIKE HIM!!) AGAIN, DON'T BUY IT, AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK, THIS STUFF IS EXPENSIVE!! WHERE DO THEY GET THE NERVE TO KEEP SELLING IT!!!!

We're sorry to hear you are not happy with your product. Banfield chose to recommend the FirstShieldâ„¢ line of products as our preferred preventive because of qualities such as a faster ability to kill fleas without needing them to *** the Pet.

It also protects against a broader spectrum of parasites. There are several different types of flea preventives available on the market, and each one works in a slightly different manner.

We feel that the decision on which flea or tick prevention is used should be a collaboration between you and your veterinarian, in order to help select the most appropriate product. Please gives us a call if you have any questions or if we can help.

*** you Banfield. Way to ruin the reputation of vets everywhere.

You all should be ashamed, making cash by exclusively recommending or selling certain products instead of doing what is best for all types of dogs. Bunch of idiots.

@ puppyOWNER.........You are confused. I know they dont do ultra sounds that is why they sent me to another clinic were i had to have all the same tests done and i had to be charged again when they already knew that they were not able to do the surgery they thought was needed.

This was the second time because the first time my dog needed an endoscopy and they ran a bunch of tests then told me they couldnt do what was needed and I was AGAIN sent to another clinic and charged AGAIN! I am not a liar you are just confused.....what kind of person just blurts stuff out like that. I dont know about the AKC coverage.

I have kept the Banfield coverage but I am more careful and not quite as ready to open my wallet. They have learned not to take advantage of me.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Deer Park, Texas - Banfield=Greedy

A friend of mine has a dog who delivered her first litter of puppies last week. She was having problems getting them to nurse and went to Petco to get some puppy formula. She asked someone at Banfield what kind of puppy formula they could recommend. They told her that she would have to pay for that information. WTF?!?! Are you *** kidding me? Pay 65.00 to tell someone what to feed a newborn pup? A lady who worked in the grooming department, on her break, overheard her conversation and took time away from her break to show her what to feed the dog. Kudos to the Petco employee, big middle finger to the greedy people at Banfield.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona - Banfield Hospital AT mCKELLIP'S AND pOWER ROAD IN MESA

They killed my 6year old maltese doing a Dental Surgery, I trusted them they never even tried to get her better, they kept telling me she would get better, during this crucell time when something heroic should have been done, but they let a little thing like money stand in the way, They did did something to her during her denta. She has had her teeth cleaned before, and was fine. But they did something to her , and would not try to make it better. I only went there, because this was a low cost dental, and it cost me my beloved pet. I have been telling every one my story and to "Boycott" "Banfield" from Mich. ,Oregon, Calif. and Az. I hope they close down. Ameliawpxs

They killed my beautiful 6year old maltese, from a Dental Surgery that went wrong, they kept telling me she would get better! Each day i would frantically call and say something is really wrong with her. They would say bring her in, but never once did I bring her home feeling better. Yhey only treated her with antiboitics, which it was very obvious she needed so much more, But they wouldn't try any thing Heroic, They just let her die instyesd. they let a little thing like money stsnd in the way, I used all my available credit, and they wouldn't do any thing! Even though it was because of that "Dam Surgery, that left big hole's in her mouth. I am a broken person because of this and part of my heart is burried with Bella.

We get it. Your dog died.

Veterinarians are not miracle workers. No matter what you do, how many antibiotics you give, or "heroic" efforts are made, sometimes animals. I'm sorry for your loss, I truly am, but you've posted four times about this. From each of your stories, I don't know that there was anymore more they could have done.

It wasn't your fault. It wasn't their fault.

It was simply Bella's time to go. Let her rest in peace instead of blaming the wrong people.

WOW I can't believe the rude comments some of you people are posting towards this person who lost her dog. Have some compassion.

Banfield is like any other company it has some good vets and some bad but at the end of the day YES they are out for the almighty $$$ like every other business. When my cat was very sick and wasnt eating they told me she could stay overnight at a partner facility and be tube fed for $2200...WTF? luckily I was working with a nice vet who cared more about the cat than the $ and she made a phone call and was able to get me an overnight stay for less than $100. It wasn't tube feeding but it was 24hour nursing care with syringe feeding which IMO is less risky than sedating my cat to tube feed.

Big jump from $2200 to less than $100 all because htis vet chose to use her heart over Banfield's sales tactics. As long as this vet coninues to work there I will still go there not because I love them and their prices but I love her and the way she cares for my cats :)

Banfield Pet Hospital in Ocala, Florida - All banfield cares about is money

took my dog to banfield for a rabbies shot and now a week later my dog is dead. called them today and all they could help me with was how much everything cost. i explained to them is there anyway they could help me and they refused because i could not afford it today. although i robably could have brought them the money the next day for sure. so thank you banfield for not helping me. i know have 3 very upset children and one devastated wife. that bulldog was her best friend. i cannot believe how calloused htey were about it.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Tampa, Florida - Banfield Veterinary Hospital

The staff is incompetent!! I have a Bengal Cat, who they say was aggressive and given sedation before they could do anything with her. My cat is almost 9yrs old and I never had this complaint. She came home and couldn't stand on her back legs! It was late evening before she could walk without falling. Next day, she still isn't okay. She is so..oo stressed out! Can you blame the cat for being stressed after sitting in a cage since 7am. It was after 12pm before she was taken care of! She was over dosed!! I 'm a member and can't cancel my membership till Jan. I'm forced to continue paying, but they will never see my Bengal again!

Okay seriously? What are you under the impression vet offices do?

Just let every animal that is a drop off roam the clinic? ALL vet clinics use kennels. Every last one of them. You don't know ever patient that comes through that clinic.

Yes, walk ins are first priority, and if they didn't take the walk in patients first, and YOU were that walk in patient, you'd gripe about how long it took.

If you have a specific time you need your animal back, TELL THE RECEPTIONIST. It's not that bleeding hard.

For the record, I don't work at a Banfield, but I DO work for a vet clinic.

I can understand your frustration....I once took my two cats for a check up, got there at 10am (they had an appointment), and they asked me do I want to dropped them off and come back to get them when they are ready. I waited until 5pm, no calls.....the whole time whey were locked in a cage as they thought that I was not in a hurry to pick them up....and they just keep taking care of the walk-in pets first.

Never Never drop them off....since then, I tell them, I want to be present at all them with my pets.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Brecksville, Ohio - Use caution at Banfield

Took sick cat to Banfield as our regular vet was closed that evening. He was vomiting & not eating. They did blood work & x-rays ($450) & said he had something in his stomach that looked like litter or gravel? They gave him fluids, a shot for nausea, and ID food which is easy on the tummy, hoping that he would pass the suspicious looking stones or need surgery. He was OK for a few days but got real sick again. Our regular vet then examined him and said the 'stones' were crystals in the Gall Bladder (gall stones) & not the stomach. He is doing more blood work to determine the appropriate course of action because he said these things with the Gall Bladder are a 'triad', usually 3 things are wrong with a bad Gall Bladder, like the pancrease & colon or liver. So we'll go from here.
