My dog is a five month old puppy who needed shots. We thought Banfield would be great because of the wellness plan and I wanted the best for my pup. Our first visit we met our first of many doctors and since we have a small dog they wanted to spread out the shots...

Ya, Tech your a liar, I paid over $80 for the liver enzyme test at banfield. Maybe if you weren't such crooks and were up front and honest about your services and fees you wouldn't have 300+ complaints here.

Every time I went there, I no longer do and tell everyone I know how bad banfield really is, your clinic ever time tried hitting me up for additional services and fees. A tech even called me up and lied, saying that me dog would die with out the test, which later was proved to be completely false after a second opinion by a REAL vet.

I hope your company is investigated and shut down, you give all vets a bad name and your title should be reduced to puppy-mill care givers! Cause we all know you are just as crooked as the puppy-mills themselves!

Banfield Pet Hospital in Bayonne, New Jersey - Banfield Vet really is a joke

Took my sweet, friendly Boxer there for an ear infection. When I told the Vet what I thought, he stood about 3 feet away and had me hold up the dog's ears so he could have a look and diagnosed that one ear seemed to have some puss in it. How's that for a detailed look? Oh, and that was after I muzzled her at their request.. I could have posted a picture on the internet and gotten free advice for that matter. Then I asked about spaying and was told that the dog was too big for their Vets and they'd refer me to another location. So, these Vets only graduated from the "small breed" Vet school? Yeah, a 54lb dog is quite a monster! So then they suckered me into ear medication, cleaner and eye drops for her red eyes which put the bill into the $220 range. (I know, my own da*m fault for being so gullible). They handed me the bag of goodies and told me the receipt was the folded piece of paper in the bag which when I got home discovered that to be instructions on ear cleaning . . . so back to the office to get a bill. Hmmm . . . at their prices, they have plenty to hide so I wonder how often that happens. Needless to say, I'll find a real Vet next time.

8 years later, different location (Connecticut), nothing has changed with Banfield. I used to bring my cat in for nail trims, until they told me that they would charge a restraint fee on top of a nail trim fee.

The only reason I went there was the convenience of them being open Sunday. Now, I make a nail trim appointment with my own vet, and get nails done for $2 less, with no restraint fees, despite my vet needing 3 techs to control him.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Corvallis, Oregon - Do NOT purchase FirstShield for you pets fleas

I recently was sold FirstShield from Banfield. Told they no longer carried Frontline and this was better and less expensive. One of my cats now has approximately a 3 x 3 inch burn across her back neck area where this product was applied. My other cat is still scratching. My dog is chewing himself and has raw patches all over his underbelly and feet. This is a TERRIBLE product. When I tried to explain to Banfield and requested my money back they refussed to help and said that it was not the product. I would not ever make a purchase there again, nor would I take my pet to them for any sort of issue.

Banfield Pet Hospital in San Diego, California - My poor Cat

My cat was having issues using litter box, we took him to Banfield, the young "doctor" when asked what might be wrong, simply stated, I am not a cat psychologist, then left for 20 min, whilst my cat used the floor as a bathroom. Upon returning, suggested my cat was a hermaphrodite, again, with no REAL examination, thanked us for bringing him in, then dissappeared, again. Thanks for all the input. We still have never got any reasonable service, the only good thing, is our insurance seems to cover most of the cost. But the cost of what... I have no idea

I have no idea who you took your cat to but any cat having urination issues could be very serious. ALL medical issues need to be ruled out before moving on to behavioral problems.

I highly recommend you get your cat to see another veterinarian. If a male cat becomes plugged and unable to pass urine he could die. Other things like an infection, etc could be the cause.

Please seek other help for your cat. (IS HE NEUTERED)?

Have no a lot of cash to buy a car? Don't worry, just because it's possible to get the home loans to solve such kind of problems. Thence get a student loan to buy all you want.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Evansville, Indiana - New Vet big problems

Although pricy, I was pleased with the care given to both my dogs, then Dr.H left. The new vet turned us away, despite the walk in policy, after finally getting the dog seen She refused to listen, ignored the previous diagnosis, ran costly tests, perscribed a number of treatments again costly, none of which worked, and refused to dispense the medicine the previous Vet had perscribed allowing, the dog to suffer, prefering to milk more cash, with tests and meds not covered in the wellness plan. After calling Banfield about these issues, she is still there. I canceled today!

As follow up... here we are 4 weeks later.

I had immediately contacted Bainfield to share my experience. I was told that they would look into it and contact me in 5 business days. I did not hear anything after the 5 business days.

Additionally, I email the CEO of the company and he emailed me back, indicating that they would look in to this and be in touch. I never heard back.

I have been on the Banfield wellness plan for 2 years, and have had a monthly payment of about $25 a month for that time. This totals to $600 for the last two years of care for my one pet!

and that doesn't cover everything, I estimate that I have also spent at least $400 dollars AT BANFIELD to get medication, vaccinations, and other doggie needs. So look into what people pay on their pets. Its probably not that much for just medical needs in the first 2 years of ownership. I guess I figured that I was getting good care and deals on some things that were really expensive.

I was wrong. The quality of care at my local Banfield (Ann Arbor, MI) is horrible. I had an appointment at 9:00 for my dog, and he was not seen until 3:00 in the afternoon, after having to wait in their kennels. I had been shopping in the area during this time, since I didn't want to go home because the vet is not close to me.

I went by the Banfield at 2:40 to see if my dog was done. I was told he hasn't been seen yet. I was pretty mad at that. Even worse, they called me ten minutes later and told me that he was finished.

So, I have been paying hundreds of dollars every year so my dog can get 15 minutes of face time with the vet? vet visits run much cheaper than that. And good luck getting them on the phone. I have been on the phone for the last 30 minutes trying to set up my plan for nonrenewal.

This is the number specifically for billing and nonrenewal. I wonder why they make you wait so long, maybe some people give up and just continue to go to Banfield because they suck you in and don't let go. I would have stopped paying them months ago, but I was told that if I cancel, I owe them all the money I "saved" while on the plan.

This place is such a huge scam. Maybe some of the vets are OK, but I doubt the good ones would work for this awful corporation for long.

This medicine does not work and I did apply it properly. I also had sentinal come out and do my home and lawn.

We walk our dog and notice that when we come home he still has them on him. When called I was told no refunds and denied trying another preventative. They said in order to give another medication my pet would need to be seen.

This is a joke. Would not reccommend this to anyone.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Chicago, Illinois - Banfield Hospital - Poor management & long wait times

I signed up my dog for the Optimum wellness plan at Banfield on Touhy in Skokie, Illinois. Even with an appointment, the average wait time is 30-60 minutes. They insist on keeping your dog for 4 hours for a physical and your dog sits in a cage for most of that time. The front desk staff is rude and incompetent. I kept telling them that my Visa wasn't being billed every month and they kept telling me my bank was the problem even though I used the same Visa each time I went in to the clinic. My bank said they never once presented the charge. Banfield corporate sent the matter to a collection agency. Banfield financial services dept claims they called me by phone and that the call was dropped before they could leave a message. They cancelled the plan and charged me the remaining five months left in the year. I had told the front desk staff about this problem each time I took my dog in for services but the front desk staff did nothing to help me.

To the last two responders: Gee I wonder if you're with Banfield corporate.

My experience with Banfield was bad enough to make me complain and decide to never return! There have been hundreds of complaints against Banfield and a recent lawsuit by a former vet. The BOTTOM LINE IS THIS: YOU'RE DEALING WITH THE LIVES OF PEOPLE AND THEIR PETS AND IT'S OBVIOUS CORPORATE HAS NO ETHICS AND DOESN'T GIVE A ***!

It sounds like if your dog "sat in a cage for 4 hours," you dropped your dog off and did NOT have an appointment. I have NEVER waited more than 15 minutes at a Banfield taking my 2 dogs.

And you know what?

They aren't allowed to refuse any walk-ins, you twit, so consider that before you complain needlessly. And it should be blatantly obvious that the individual Banfield is not responsible for handling your financial matters - that is CLEARLY a corporate matter.

Treat others as you want to be treated. its not the job of the front desk to take care of financial issues. You need to contact the Main banfield office to resolve those issues. Yes it is possible they couldnt leave a message, because some answering machines/voice mails will hangup if the volume is too low, or its a recorded message.

Maybe people should start opening their eyes and reading contracts before signing them, taking responsibility for their own actions and stop placing blame everywhere else then where it really belongs and thats on themselves. Does it ever occur to people, that a person in customer service could be having a bad day or just had to deal with some *** customer and it put them in a bad mood? Like we all dont have bad days. Ahh the internet, where *** can complain about everything and still not do something constructive to rectify a situation.

Brb going to get some Cheese for that whine.
