I am so upset right now. My cat is in the emergency animal hospital right now after spending the day at Banfield. I have the Wellness plans for both of my 3 year old, indoor cats. They have always seemed as if they love animals from the people that you deal with but...

the only way this would be banfield's fault is if the bloodwork on your cat was not healthy. even then, a vaccine reaction is never predictable and not something that the hospital is liable for.

vaccine reactions happen all the time. what's more concerning is the fact that the other vet stated that these vaccines were not necessary and should never have been given to your cat. not sure what vaccines were given, but fvrcp and rabies are considered standard of care by the avma. not sure where the other vet gets info from and once again not sure what vaccines were given, but if those were two of them, they were right to do so.

even feline leukemia and fip vaccines are not without reason. One should always remember that any vaccine can cause a reaction, these are not predictable and can be treated as needed. in addition, any anesthetic procedure is not without risks.

if your pets preanesthetic bloodwork looked good, there is no reason that the attending vet wouldn't have proceded with the dental. no one can predict how a patient will react to any of these things.

On 05.25.10 we went to Banfield The Pet Hospital at 3993 Tyrone Blvd. in St. Petersburg, FL. we went for a physical exam for my dog. I had gotten an estimate of $39.95, over the phone, which was the final price for that. While there, I was told that in order to complete...

That's why it's called an ESTIMATE. Most Medical/Veterinary services can only be based on estimates because trreatment plans will need to be changed if they find something wrong/the pateints condition changes/the history you gave them changes etc etc. There are too many variables in medicine to be able to provide 100% price guarentees - just be grateful that Veterinary medicine is so much cheaper than human medicine.

I would also caution that if such a small price difference made this unmanagable for you that you should re-think owning a pet or at least get pet insurance because heaven forbid anything bad happens would you able to afford even basic healthcare for your pet or would it have to suffer without any care??

My daughter has worked for banfield for going on 4 years. Worked her way up the ladder.

THought with all the high tech equipment that banfield was going to be her career. I have set back and watched them harrass, intimidate, and belittle her about her work performance. She is a highly skilled vet tech and loves working with animals. Banfield uses their employees and spits them out.

They are out to ruin peoples lives. And it is true banfield is money oriented and not pet friendly.

Corporate run vets have no place in treating pets or have no idea of how to treat their employees. We also will be seeking a legal solution as to the misstreatment of their employees.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Denver, Colorado - Banfield is a joke!

do not sign up for the wellness plan! banfield only cares about the money and charge tons of fees for the dumbest stuff. they try and sell you unneccesary tests and scare you into doing them. i signed my dog up last year and couldnt wait to cancel it. but the last time i took my dog dixie there to get her shots they failed to tell me that i had to reup my plan... in the midst of trying to get two dogs checked in and one groomed they it was confusing with all the paper work. so now i either have to pay over 200 for her shots! or wait another year... THIS COMPANY IS REDICULOUS! not to mention the vet tech i had didnt know anything!!!! this place is a *** joke. stay far away!

we took our 8 year old beagle to Banfield in new jersey and she needed bladder stone surgery. So we got the wellness plan saving us 1000 dollars. They did rush the surgery, because she started urinating the stones out, the first 3 days she was fine and eating the s/d...

hello, first i would like to say sorry for you loss. This same thing happened to my dog and instead of taking her to banfield again i took her to another local vet.

They did a whole bunch of test and noticed that they punctured her bladder. She had many surgeries and is still with us today. I don't believe it was cancer either, since mine didnt have cancer.

With all the reviews and complaints about Banfield it surprises me that people still defend them. Again, sorry for your loss.

At about 1 pm on May 10, 2010 I rushed my dog to Banfield, Petsmart in Humble TX for a medical issue. My dog, Tango, was in a play yard at the pet resort where I work and something happened that made him start wailing. A colleague of mine was with Tango when he...

How dare u post such negative things about my father he works too *** hard to receive such negative feed back. He is an amazing person and an amazing doctor.

And im sure your dog lived to see 2pm. If it was such an emergency you should have taken ur dog to an emergency clinic. Not a scheduled veterinarian. That's where u messed up!

He's a great hard working doctor I don't just say it cuz im his daughter I say it cuz I've spent multiple birthdays and christmas alone. Good day!!!

Banfield Pet Hospital in Newark, New Jersey - Used my sick pup to take my money

The Banfield Hospital in Paramus, NJ is the worst. They don't care about your pet. All they care about is their money. I brought my puppy there because she was ill and she was not walking. Not only did they give me attitude, but they made me pay lots of money for things she did not need. They trick you into paying for things, by giving them to your dog, and not telling you until the bill comes. I paid for medication that did not even help. They told me that my dog need lots of cage rest.Fed up, i went to a better place for a second opinion, and i was surprised to find that my dog had Hip Dysplasia.Instead of lots o f cage rest, she needed to run. I spent thousands of dollars for no reason. Banfield Pet Hospital is worst place to take your pet.

I agree people, dont bring your pet here....I have multiple pets and thought it would be easier considering they had lower pricing, however they injected my dog with his annual shots and one of the shots ended up having a recall days after. I was very upset about this and have since yanked my account out from them and transferred over to a real vet.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Reston, Virginia - Bad Service All The Way Around!

Made an appointment for a physical for my dog for Thursday at 2:00 PM. Got there at 1:30 PM. Was told by the receptionist that the Vet was at lunch & wouldn't return until 2:30 PM. She stated that she tried to call me that morning but that they had a wrong number for me. She asked me if I wanted to sit & wait on the Vet. I told her "NO". I was upset that I was just disregarded. Very Unprofessional. I will never use this clinic again. Attitude there Stinks!! All she could say was Sorry!

Of course it was the vets fault!.Doctors love to make people wait. It's a power thing.

No Hmmm, I'm not an impatient person. I had given them my correct informtion.

Yes, vets make appointments for a reason. It's a shame when I don't get a call to cancel or reschedule the appointment. This is what angered me.

This is not the first time I've had an issue with this clinic. I've been very patient in the past with them loosing all my information before.Taking me 2 hrs standing there with the rep to correct the problem.

You showed up half an hour early for your appointment, and were mad that the vet wasn't there right at THAT second to look at your animal? Doctors and vets make appointments for a reason.

This doesn't sound like a problem with the vet office to met. Now, if you had showed up on time, waited 30 minutes, that would be a different story. As for the wrong number, they were probably calling to confirm your appointment. Most vet offices do this. Did you double check with the receptionist to make sure your information was correct?

I doubt you were disregarded. It sounds like you were an impatient person who didn't get what he wanted.
