Being a first time puppy owner I wanted the best for my pet. After seeing the financial burden of having a puppy struggling with Giardia and a sensitive stomach I decided to get pet insurance. Banfield yeses you to death when you sign up gives you a great deal and the...

Sorry that your having issues with your new puppies Wellness Plan.

The plan has it advantages as well as its disadvantages. Yes, the plan seems to be a money saving option at the onset.

However, considering the initial cost and the limited coverage the plan itself is very costly in the long run.

I had the Wellness plan and my puppy passed away within 7 months. Other then having her initial puppy shots, fecal exam and brief health check up on her three visits to Banfeild NO other services i.e no spaying etc. were performed.

When I inquired as to any type of refund I was told there is no refund on services not performed due to my puppy's passing.

That in fact, if I had not paid for her Wellness plan in full at the time I would have still been responsible for any other monthly payments due on her plan until it was paid in full.

The free exams sound like a bargain. However, you'll financially well exceed the initial plan cost with all the extra ad on's that are not included as stated in the Wellness plan contract.

I suggest you find a private local vet to take care of your new puppy.

Banfield Pet Hospital - Urinary Tract Infection Treatment Review from Uniontown, Pennsylvania

They killed our dog who needed treated for a simple UTI by overdose and an expired injection of Convenia. They won't accept responsibility and we are stuck with the bill. Our dog was healthy otherwise and could have recovered quickly had we not gone to the Banfield in Washington, PA.

File a complaint with your area's States Attorney's office and the BBB. If you have a private Attorney ask his or her advice. Perhaps a malpractice suit could be filed against the vet who harmed your pet.

We as pet owners have the responsibility of protecting our pets from due to negligence and or harm caused by another person.

I love the Banfield I go to. They spent a lot of time with me though explaining their wellness plans aren't insurance and I believe that is why so many people get mad because they just don't understand the package.

Banfield Pet Hospital in La Quinta, California - Only two good vets at Palm Springs. Banfield

Dr Dogra and Dr Wallack are excellent. The others Ramirez and Shrader were unable to diagnose and treat my dogs. After a history was taken of my dog, she could not prescribe the correct medication and took her to another Banfield and she needed surgery. After a painful month and cost of surgery, I will not recommend the wellness plan or Banfield. We are stuck with only two veterinarian clinics and both are about equal. We are stuck paying for the wellness plan until next year. Once you have the plan they keep renewing as they did with ours. The problem is they added new vets and we did not have a choice unless we went out of our area.

They are probably correct. Call and get copies of all your invoices it has the cost with and without the wellness plan on the invoice.

Remember they aren't insurance. They are preventative care packages.

Banfield Pet Hospital - Wonderful Care from Banfield on Watt Avenue in Sacramento

We have had 5 dogs come to this branch and we love the vets there. We wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else. The care that the vets and the nurses show our dogs is outstanding. We had to have one of our beagles put down. The vet sat on the floor with my boyfriend while our dog passed. She was crying right along with him and hugged both of them. I recommend this hospital all the time and have had other clients state they love the doctors there, too. Two other branches, Folsom and Lincoln, have a terrific vet, too. He's personable, kind, caring and patient when you ask questions. Please remember that these are franchises and each one is owned individually. Don't rate your hospital based on a bad experience from another one. I will continue to take my dogs there.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Rocky Mount, North Carolina - Extremely poor customer service and equally unsatisfactory customer loyalty.

I have been taking my pets to Banfield since moving here in 2010. I have spent literally thousands of dollars for veterinary care at this facility. When I stopped by for a copy of my cat's food prescription I asked ( since they were not busy with any other pets ) if I could ask the vet a quick question. The counter person went back to ask the vet to come out. She came back and said the vet won't talk to me about anything unless I make an appointment and pay for a consult. Needless to say I am done with this group of idiots. Also, at every visit they pressure pet owners to purchase extra and unnecessary services. I have never liked this aspect of their service.
