They killed my cat last year

Took him in and they diagnosed him with diabetes. Talked me into their wellness plan and charged me I don't know how much more over and above that amount. Up until I took him there, he' at least been eating, but stopped after the visit, except when I 1st gave him the special food. I spent close to $200.00 on insulin, syringes and special food, all of which ended up being donated to the humane society. I kept taking him back and they kept doing more tests. not finding any more than the initial diagnosis. They suggested moving him to a place where he could be monitored over night and I said to wait and see how the day went. It had been my intention to bring him home, care for him myself and then have him seen by a holistic vet the next day. My daughter was handling things while I was at work. Well, they called her and told her he was better and they were going to keep him there overnight, even though he couldn't be watched. By the time she reached me at work, they were closed for the night. The next am he'd gotten worse and I never had a chance to take him elsewhere. They also tried to get my daughter to authorized them to put him to sleep and they falsified the medical records, saying that I declined to transfer him. No one should ever take a pet to these people. And they won't even refund my money.

The Banfield in Deptford, NJ killed my dog, Missy then fasified her records too to cover it up and blame it on her heart condition when it was their negligence that killed her. I hope you reported them to the state veterinary medical board. Sorry for your loss, I know how you feel since they did it to my dog.

WORST experience concerning veterinary care.

If you care about the well-being of your pet, I recommend ANYWHERE BUT BANFIELD. I had the WORST experience at the Overland Park Banfield. I feel this company only cares about profit, not about customer relations or the quality of services for the pets they care for. I was charged for appointments I never got to go to because of personal issues, I explained how me and my partner lost all of our credit cards and personal items in a fire, and there was no understanding. So they took the $700 from the wellness plan, for appointments we NEVER got to go to, to a debt agency. We are two 21 year olds trying to get by, sometimes we don't even have money for food. So we asked since we are going to pay it anyway if we could reschedule the appointments we missed for our pets. THE ANSWER WAS NO. I have never had a worse experience with veterinary professionals. DO NOT GO TO BANFIELD. This is the first time I have ever even written a bad review, my experience was that awful.

Banfield Pet Hospital - Wellness Plan Review from Greeley, Colorado

Even with the wellness plan they are always trying to charge you for something else. Everyone they lose a doctor they make you come in before you can get prescriptions refilled because "this doctor had not seen your pet" is frustrating and keeps getting worse. The Banfield in Greeley Colorado is a horrible pave to take your pet. Their customer service is horrible. The most recent issue was when I went to pick up a prescription our dog had been on this medication for years and I have always paid the same amount for it but this time with yet another doctor said I was on a price match and need to pay more now. The front desk person said it was in the notes that the doctor told me about this on the last visit I told her that read not true and I wanted to speak to a manager or supervisor she said the manager was out of town she said she could get the main office person, Melissa (don't even get me started on this rude horrible person ) I still said fine so she went back to get her when she came back it was someone else and she just repeated the same thing the other person told me. I told her the doc did not tell me and I also asked her why didn't they tell me when I called the prescription in the day before, I also told hey I didn't even know about the price match for it. So I Paid an extra $13 for the prescription and Alex the first office person if the second person was a doc she said no she is same as her. So not only did she not bring out Melissa but she didn't get me a manager or supervisor either. When I Alex for a doc she said they were to busy to talk to me. She said she would have a doc call me a little later......I'm still waiting. This was just one of many issues with this Banfield. Also the wellness plan is worthless because we do not use even half of the things that come with it and e still end up paying extra EVERYTIME WE TAKE OUR DOGS IN.

Dr Archer ran a puppy mill in Missouri

Dr Wesley Archer fled the state of California and Missouri in the middle of the night to avoid being arrested for non compliance of USDA laws for operating a dog breeding kennel. He and his wife Jorn Jamieson fled to an Indian Reservation south of Greenville TX, for tribal protection laws.

They operate a puppy mill of Dalmations and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They also raise diseased birds. I have been there several times and it is a FILTHY place! My puppy was sick from the time i purchased her.

Dr Archer would not honor the health guarantee! Because the kennel is on a reservation, i am having a hard time prosecuting him. My puppy had distempter, a highly contagious respritory disease, from unsanitary conditions.i took her straight to my vet when i bought her so i know she had this disease before i took her.

Buyer beware of Elite Pets and Dr. Wesley Archer!!!

The above post is exactly right! I purchaed my puppy from jorn and my puppy was sick and had congenital defects.

I could not get them to honor health guarantee!!

I was let into the kennel by an employee.

The conditions were HORRID!!! Do NOT buy from these people!!

You are correct in that Dr Archer fled MO and CA in order to avoid prosecution. I was there.

He married Jorn in order to put everything into her name and out of his own.

My suggestion to you is to go after his Veterinary License. You can open an investigation with the Veterinary board and because he works off the reservation you do have other resources at your disposal.

Think about it for a minute...

Dr Archer used his veterinary priviledges in order to administer vaccinations/wormings to your pet.

He also used his license to issue a health certificate. Even if his name is not on listed he purchased the vaccines under his license. If the sale was listed as Jorn being the breeder, sales cannot be done without a final health check. This is listed in the initial advertising and sale under "puppy leaves us with vaccinations/wormings up to date and health checked by our vet." I know this personally as I have three of his Cavaliers as payment for when i worked for them and he couldnt pay me my earnings.

I know these people well.

He is a hoarder and the kennel is just another example of hoarding.

Dr Archer is also on the board with his Sons under Affiliated Veterinary Service. Check there. You can also file a complaint with the Tribal Council for that area.

Not sure if Doc and Jorn are in business anymore. Good Luck!

This evil person is listed as being a vet with Topvets.com. He substitutes for a vet in Mabank, Texas.

I doubt if he knows what he did or does because leopards do not change their spots. But he should.

Banfield pet hospital let my yorkie die on me

I have a yorkie that was pregnant and due Oct.23 I took her in Oct.18 because she was jerking and seemed to be having sezure's I told them she was due Oct.23 they did not even look at her they told me to hold on a minute and came back out with a paper on welping they told me to take her home and make her comfortable that she was fixing to have the pups I asked was this normal because I have never had a dog that gave birth and didn't think she was ok.They told me it was normal and she would be fine she still didn't ack right sunday and monday she did the same thing with the jerking as I was holding her she died in my arms my granddaughter grab her up and started cpr on her she got her back breathing and we rushed her to the emergency vet while there she died again they had to rush her to the back and hook her up to life support to keep her alive we picked her up the next morning and took her straight to another vet he checked her calcium oand it was very low I was told that if they had checked her calcium saturday when I took her in to pet smart that they could have giving her calcium and none of this would have happened that her calcium dropping so low caused her to have siezures the new vet got her calcium up and did a c-section on her and she is still trying to recover from the stress she had to go through because pet smart did not check her like I asked them to do even though they take over $100.00 dollars a month for the wellness plan on my dogs I do not recommend anyone taking there animals to them at all

I have never been more disgusted or infuriated with a business in my entire life. Banfield Pet Hospital in Braintree uses appalling business tactics in order to steal your money.

NEVER bring your pets there.

When I brought my kittens in to get their spray and neuter the veterinarian there gave them a special flea treatment prior to the surgery because he said that he found a flea on one of them; but he did so without my consent, and nowhere in any of the surgery prep paper work was there even a hint that this treatment may be necessary. I was also not verbally warned either. When the bill came to charge me for it (as a surprise to me of course) I told them I refuse to pay for something they didn't get my consent for in the first place.

The meeting ended with me under the assumption that my valid complaint had successfully waived these fees. I continued to bring my pets there and paid their health insurance directly from my bank account monthly, however, I just received a letter in the mail from a third party debt collector for the amount of the flea treatments because Banfield Pet Hospital has reported me for non-payment!!!!!!

You do realize that if they had done surgery on your pet with fleas that the fleas could have crawled into her abdomen through the open incision and she would have died of a horrible infection?

Nope, most of the topical or oral treatments on the market now work very quickly on the pet. What can take a long time is to get kill flea eggs & larvae & get them out of the carpet/furnishings.

Flea baths on the other hand are pretty much useless baca use they don't kill any of the fleas/larvae/eggs on the pets face (which you can't put the flea shampoo on because it can hurt their eyes), so once the pet is dry the fleas just come back.

Also if your pet had fleas they are going to infest the other pets in the hospital.......which is not fair to those other pets, so the hospital HAS to treat to prevent the other pets in their care catching fleas from your pet. Take responsibility for your own pet!

Actually tablets only take 30 minutes. And when you sign the drop off form it states if there is fleas we will treat and you will have to pay at pick up.

Terrible office staff, overpriced, rude customer service, too rough with pets

The wellness plan is a total rip off, you still get charged for office visits - more than you would anywhere else in the area. ($300 for routine shots with Banfields plan - it's $180 and the private vet in town) They will take your dog to weigh them, then do a toenail trim without asking and charge you $50 for it. They will frequently cut though the entire quick and the dogs will walk out bleeding like crazy. They claimed he was fine and wouldn't put any quick clot or clean it. We had to go to the groomers to get help! The office staff is rude and doesn't care about the pets well being at all. The vets are decent, but you never get to see them - only the front office staff and sometimes a vet tech. If you call to cancel your plan, they will charge you $800 to cancel - that's more than the entire year costs per their advertisements! Even if your pet passes away they will still charge you the cancelation. They are heartless and if you care about your pet you should stay far away.

Banfield is not heartless, if you want to be upset be upset at the corporate office, they can not change the corporate policy from location to location, just like all of us, they are constrained by the wills of their bosses, and could lose their job if they do not follow the policy. Get that through your head and stop blaming the location.

I got better advice from a shelter vet and the visit was cheaper also. How you all sleep at night is beyond me.

I was like the rest of you I signed up for banfield and at first I was like wow it gonna save me money how wrong I was I spent any where from 20/100 at each visit per dog I don't understand where is the savings? The. One of my dogs had a bad experience with the staff so they offered me a 2 month free of charge for my one dog then now they are charging my account again after I told them I'll do the two months for free and I'll let you know if I want to sign back up we'll they took it anyhow I am furious but there is nothing I can do??? I don't want this plan anymore poor brutties hasn't been to the vets office but once this yr and that cost me 50 dollars really???

THIEVES!

They'll sign you up for a wellness plan with the promise of saving you tons of money and forget to mention that its a mandatory 12 month program. They also give you the impression that everything is included, but somehow.....you'll always end up spending money every time you take them to their "included vet check".

When you finally realize they are over charging you and you call to cancel the plan, because you realize you would rather spend less and give the money to a local vet who wont over charge you or treat your animal for unnecessary reasons, you will be told to bend over and grab your knees by a sassy (not the fun sassy) rep who tells you "ITS UNDER THE AGREEMENT".

You know, the one they give you after you sign up for the plan that you're told will save you money during your animals exam. The exam where they tell you the long list and costs off all the things your poor rescued street kitten will need. You wanna do the right thing, and so you sign up thinking they have you and your animals best interest at heart. Their cold, dead, black, shriveled corporate heart....

So, you tell the sassy rep that all of these hidden costs nor the 12-month agreement were explained to you and you weren't given the agreement to read before hand. The ever so helpful rep will let you know that you have the convenient option to either pay out the remainder of your contract in full or continue the plan until the contract is up. Well, of course you're going to continue the contract because why would you give someone a lump sum of money and then give more money to another vet.

Lets get something straight, the people who work here are friendly and have a great smile.......but so did Ted Bundy. Even Satan side eyes this company.

SO TAKE MY MONEY! Me and my cat dont need to eat, but ask yourself.....whos the real animal here?

Thats how big business works. They dont get rich and afford to have +800 hospitals by being nice or giving you a great deal.

They are only able to do that by making a lot of profit, and that profit can only come from theie clients.

We have dog who is 3 years old who has been going to Banfield since he was a puppy and also gets he's grooming done at petsmart. But everytime he has an apoointment we always fine something wrong with one of his legs or he has huge scrapes on his skin after his hair cuts. And now we're getting charged extra to cancel the automatic payments for the wellness plan.

Banfield Pet Hospital: They are nice to your pet and courteous to your face but just try and cancel your " Wellness Plan, OMFG!!! First off, you can't cancel at the facility. You can't cancel online. You have to somehow get the "secret telephone number" and once you get the number they put you on hold for about 10 minutes; When I finally got hold of a "live" person she DEMANDED I provide a reason for cancelling my plan; which, by the way AUTO-RENEWS EVERY YEAR" unless you cancel the plan on the phone. I told her that I simply didn't want to renew the plan. She informed me that I had to provide her with a "VALID REASON" for cancelling. I had to tell her that I couldn't afford the plan. I make over 60 K a year but she said the plan would run in perpetuity forever unless I gave he a VALID REASON for cancelling. STAY AWAY from this predatory, unethical company. They over inflate their charges and still charge over $100.00 over and above the plan every time you take your pet in to be seen.

I feel very badly for you about losing your dog. It is crushing when more than anything you just want an explanation.

The tears will still come, anger and all the things we know comes with grief. Hopefully as a well educated and well healed health professional I can offer you a few terms used with people to use when looking for information about what was likely occurring with your dog. It is tough to find animal specific disease when we have no idea where to start. I would suggest terms like CHF (Congestive Heart Failure), Chronic Pulmonary Hypertension and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).

Keep in mind when you read about these things your Missy would have over-time known she had to take it easy sometimes if maybe too many goodies (take that back never too many goodies!!!! ) Once you and your family have taken sometime to share maybe make a gift to you local animal shelter or plan to plant a tree this spring look into some of my suggestions, we all know what it's like to be human, dog's bodies operate in this instance almost the same.

Again, I offer you my deepest sympathy and please share my ideas with your daughter to help her out if she needs it or you feel it will benefit her.

Thank you for your kind words. I do know Missy had heart problems and would die one day, I am not in denial about that.

I just KNOW it wasnt her time the day they killed her. You just had to be there and had to know her to fully understand, but they defied me, they stressed her out so bad they killed her.

That's my issue. We are going to make a donation to the Big Hearts Fund, its an organization for dogs with heart disease whose owners need help paying for treatment.

Thank you, its been devastating, but what hurts the most is thinking about what she went through that day and what she must have been thinking about why she was so happy that morning and how I could hand her over to someone who would do that horrible stuff to her. I feel so much guilt over that and I shouldnt have to feel guilty for being a good pet owner and taking my dog to the vet for a check up.

Banfield has turned me into a very bitter person and I have had to start taking antidepressants and anxiety pills due to this situation because Missy is all I can think about and all I ever do is cry. I hate Banfield so much!

I saw online about what happen to a guy call Renato Arenas that after a simple surgery and after few appointments the vet don't know what the dog had, after charge lot of money, and his pet call Capri die and you don't help him. I see that you don't care the dog health only wants money, so I'm going to call him to advice that your clinic is a danger place to check health dogs and recommend an investigation and sue your clinic. I feel so sad to what happen to his dog and I will do everything to close your clinic and that doctor never work like a vet. Also will tell this problem in channel 12 at soon as I can, you have to pay for what you did.KILLERS

Banfield in Depford, NJ killed my Pomeranian, Missy on 11/25/14 then handed me a bill for over $300 which I refused to pay and I refused to pay another cent for the Wellness Plans I had all of my dogs on. I have not taken my dogs back to a Banfield since.

Tell the guy I am sorry for his loss.

I know how he feels. I have been very vocal and proactive about bashing Banfield. Unfortunately, it isnt that easy to put them out of business. They are owned by the Mars Candy Company, which is a big company.(Dont eat anymore M and M's) Tell him to boycott all of their products (do a search).

They own Nutro Pet Foods too. (I used to do demos for Nutro back in 1999 before they owned it and I used it, before they changed the ingredients, still its a pretty good food and I sometimes used it, but not any more.) My dogs love Greenies, but they dont get them anymore. Using any of their products is disrespecting Missy. If everyone with all of these sad stories stopped using all of their products and got all of your friends and family to stop using all of their products, plus you post bad reviews each and every place you can, and there are TONS of places, believe me, then you can really hurt them like that.

I took her to a shelter vet, and got better advice and medicine for 75 percent less than Banfield.

Banfield just cares about money. When their own employees complain about the ethics, you know it is a hellhole.

I take my 3 dogs to the Newbury Park location in California. I only have Dr. An take of my dogs. Every time I go there the staff take such good care of my pets. They love going there. The staff always greets me with a smile and can't do enough to help me. They answer all my question with care and concern. As For Dr. An I love her so much for loving and taking good care of my pets. I would follower her where ever she goes. She use to be in Westlake Village which was only 5 minutes from my home. Now she has moved and is 30 minutes from my home, but I followed her anyway. She is a great doctor and a great person. You are lucky to have her and her staff.

She loves all the attention when she goes in for her exam. She has lots of problems, but they always make sure to take great care of her!

Banfield Newnan is the worst Vet Experience I've ever had!

The staff is beyond rude, and are the most unprofessional people I've ever seen.

From personal experience, our dogs didn't even see a vet and the bill was nearly $400.

I was hung up on requesting records. I called the Corp Office, they did nothing either.

The staff at Banfield is unprofessional, inept, and seem to lack proper training.

The saying.. "I wouldn't let them touch my dog" is true in the case of Banfield!

DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC IF YOU CARE FOR YOU PETS AND WANT THE BEST CARE FOR THEM!!

I sent this email to them the day we got back home from a first time visit for our dog Bella, they haven't responded yet, two days so far.. we have another appointment on Friday, after that initial experience, I've been seriously concidering finding a local vet.

Here's my email:

"My name is Michelle , My husband, Andre took our puppy, Bella to Banfield, she's a chihuahua mix who has swelling in her leg after jumping off our sofa.

We visited Hospital #0632 @5572 Fairmont PKWY in Pasadena, TX. Dr. Thibault was Bella's Dr.

The issue:

We left Bella there for examination, upon pickup, the woman at the front desk was cheery and bubbly with the customer before us, all was well, until she got to my husband, and it was like someone immediately deflated her, literally, she began to take deep breaths, shaking her head, like in unbelief, no eye contact, no smile, we hadn't even said anything but hello. Then the whole while we spoke to the Dr.

I basically got the impression that we weren't capable of owning a dog! She kept saying, "what do you wanna do?!" and "it's not fair for her to suffer!" But we had already told her we were making the appoint to hv the procedure done! That wasn't good enough, she went on to say, "ya know it's not just about one splint and some ×rays, there would be multiple visits, at least five, what do you wanna do?!" We're like mam, we're bringing her in, sheesh!! Then she began explaining all that Bella would need and the fees that came along with these svcs.

All her mannerisms told me that she didn't think we could even afford it.

I have thick skin, so I really don't care about racism, if that was even the case. I'm an RN, I deal with it all the time, so I'm not whining here by no means. The thing is, this was my husband's first time at a vet, and the whole experience, they never took their animals to a vet as a kid, but he wanted to try, he wanted Bella for the girls and he wanted to do it right!

Ultimately they made him feel like not even wanting to come back for the procedure. That's not how it should be, I understand that your staff loves animals, and thats priority, that's all good, but, what about people skills? I left there feeling very angry, instead of excited that we found a vet who's gonna fix our baby. I don't know how you all take feedback from customers, actually, I don't think this email will go past just being read.

But either way, I plan to speak to them on Friday myself, very professionally of course, because my first impression of Banfield really REALLY sucks, do these "professionals" I encountered today reflect Banfield? Usually and probably. Being a nurse, I've never treated any patient or family member the way we were treated today. It really cost nothing to be kind.
