As soon as I got there the techs and the doctors put a lot of pressure to sell their expensive products and services. They add a lot of unnecessary tests and fees to make the bill go up. My bill was $400 for the super CBC test, disposal fees, they added a cherry...

Banfield Pet Hospital - Banfield gives unneccessary vaccinations which are at odds with the feline vaccine protocols
Banfield gives unneccessary vaccinations which are at odds with the feline vaccine protocols. I had an indoor cat that they every year gave the FeLV vaccine to. Per established protocol only kittens or high risk (outdoor) cats should receive this annual vaccine as it...

ANONYMOUS seems to defend Banfield on every complaint. How about giving your name and phone number if like Banfield so much.

I would like to talk to you and tell you what I think of Banfield (NOT MUCH). Banfield only cares about your money, they could care less about your pet.

Scams, appalling business practices. Awful. They told my disabled client he would be getting a free vet appointment. Such a lie. They tried to charge him $101.97 when we were there. They said the free appointment was only with a coupon found online. No one said that on...

You guys are mean. Cats in many states, as in California, are not required to have a rabies shot, so depending where this happened you could be wrong.

Secondly, it is well established that Banfield is nothing more then a money grubbing, inept, company that cares less about it's patients. The vets are *** and cannot diagnose anything. How much Banfield makes, it would not hurt to help out needy and disabled patients. Oh, yes, you *** uppity vets look down on any owner that cannot afford your exorbitant fees.

Well, considering the vets that work at Banfield are the McDonald's of the veterinary world, I would not stick my nose up to high.

You all suck, and most do not deserve to even be vets! Try to find a ounce of compassion, oh, wait, you work at Banfield, you have none.

Banfield Pet Hospital - Worst Company to work For

1.0
Details
I had been working at Banfield for a little over a year full time. I picked up a part time position on the side to help with the finances. My practice manager became very upset with the fact that I was going to get another position. She forced me to go part time because I was unable to work weekends any longer at the hospital. When I was forced to part time the practice manager took away health benefits and still had me working full time hours which is a BS. The Company expects the staff to work hard for them but never recive anything in return such as a pay increase or etc. And to promote their wellness plans but in all reality its all about Quantity and not the quality of care of the pets. Vets are recive bonuses along with the Practice manager every year so of course they are going to upcharge to make themselves more money in the long run.

While I agree that Banfield is a *** company to work for, I don't think your manager is necessarily being unfair about making you a part time employee. If you previously worked weekends, and then just told (instead of asking) your manager that you could no longer work weekends...well what did you expect to happen?

In general, weekends are the busiest days, so having an employee declare that they can no longer work them makes the hospital have to find someone else to fill those slots. Also - no one wants to work weekends all the time, so either the other employees are going to have to increase their number of weekend shifts to cover you, or the hospital will have to hire someone else to cover weekends.

I do agree that if your manager is still giving you full-time hours, you should receive benefits. This happened to me, as well.

However, my manager explained that it was temporary until she found someone else to hire (which often takes weeks to find someone qualified). In terms of full time vs.

part time - the company sets those standards, not the Fair Labor Standards Act. If you continue to work full time (for maybe more than 3+ weeks in a row), I would bring it up with your manager or field leadership, because that really isn't fair.

No one should want to be associated with ever having employment at a Banfield. On your future applications for employment I would definitely leave out the part admitting you ever worked at one!

I actually found it VERY helpful in getting my next job. I explained the reason why I was seeking a position at another hospital was because although I valued my coworkers and respected te vets, working for a large corporation with so many regulations often restricted our ability to provide exceptional customer service.

I wanted to work at some place that valued the customer and created personal relationships. I wasn't overly negative and said some positive things about the hospital, but also explained my desire to work at a different type of hospital.

The hiring manager loved it. That explanation landed me a new job AND admittance into vet school.

Thank you for your kind words. I do know Missy had heart problems and would die one day, I am not in denial about that.

I just KNOW it wasnt her time the day they killed her. You just had to be there and had to know her to fully understand, but they defied me, they stressed her out so bad they killed her.

That's my issue. We are going to make a donation to the Big Hearts Fund, its an organization for dogs with heart disease whose owners need help paying for treatment.

Banfield Pet Hospital - Dog Treatment Review from Newbury Park, California

Banfield Newbury Park! Sucks Period! I took my dog in for vomiting and diarrhea on 12/22/14. My dog Roxy was prescribed medication for a parasite. There was no communication with the doctor. Just advised by staff to start meds when I get home. They injected my dog with all types of fluids which when I got him home he had a size of a tennis ball full of fluid due to them over injecting my poor 13 1/2 year-old dog. I was up all night with him due to concerns of the inflamation of fluid located under his front leg. I called the emergency hospital and they said watch the size of fluid and if it gets bigger bring him in. Next day the fluid passed from his leg after drueling all night. I called banfield in the morning and they said he should be fine but please bring him in if he doesn't do a bowl movement, Which he did and I felt and trusted their opinion and they put him on the same meds for a parasite. My dog passed on 12/25/14. I know my message will never bring my dog back. But REALLY if my dog is sick, you are the *** doctors why release him????? Do not prolong his life to make $$$$. Please be honest. You should be ashamed to call yourself doctors Michelle

File a written complaint against Banfield with the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. (May be called something a little different in your state.) Call the Office of Consumer Protection or your Attorney Generals Office and ask where to file your complaint. Dont let them get away with their ignorance!

Banfield Pet Hospital in Boca Raton, Florida - Employee of banfield

I've worked for banfield hospital for about 6 months now and it is honestly the worst company I have ever worked for. If you like long hours , horrible pay , and working for a very unorganized hospital than this is the place for you. I've worked for plenty of corporate companies that have more organizational skills than this so called hospital. First off the manager of the hospital left in October and we still haven't hired or received a New manger it's now january. Since then the hospital has crashed with being organized and suffcient. Were always under staffed and make clients wait. Even though we have the power to make the hospital schedule no matter what we always have to book up the appointments even though we do not have the staff to back up the demand. Also half of the nurses or techs are trained on spot with no requirement of schooling needed. They only person with a degree is the doctor which they will still train doctors and let them on pet cases if they haven't finished their final tests yet to earn their degree. Also the wellness plan they offer is a bunch of *** it only cover vaccinations office visits and comprehensive exams which the plan is only good for one year and out of the year your pet needs vaccines or comp exams every six months so your only using it twice unless your pet is sick which you'll receive a 10 15 or 20 percent discount depending which level plan you have. Also the corporate office is so money hungry that if you pet does pass away while on the wellness plan they make you pay off the remainder of the plan for your dead pet. Its absolutely horrible. Not to mention every employee has a chance to meet the regional manager and head of corporate which these guys have no idea what the *** they're talking about when it comes to well being of an employee or what benefits are offered. They'll tell you one thing and the benefits department will tell you another. The only good thing an employee gets is a free wellness plan I own four dogs and I still will not bring my pets to this vet. The reason why I started working here was because I wanted to go to school to become a tech eventually a doctor and this company has turned me sour about the whole thing. I have about two weeks left with this company by choice just because I can't take working for a company this unorganized. I'm a receptionist so everything that goes wrong with a client such as billing , wellness plans , schedules constantly changing , anything that a nurse or doctor doesn't want to deal with my position has to and let me tell you the clients definitely shoot the messanger. Its a very stressful work environment that doesn't pay you enough to deal with all the *** that happens day to day in this place. Like I said I've been here for six months and have seen more passed off clients leave the hospital than happy ones and I cannot wait to leave and move on from this company.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Tallmadge, Ohio - They killed my cat last year

1.0
Details
Took him in and they diagnosed him with diabetes. Talked me into their wellness plan and charged me I don't know how much more over and above that amount. Up until I took him there, he' at least been eating, but stopped after the visit, except when I 1st gave him the special food. I spent close to $200.00 on insulin, syringes and special food, all of which ended up being donated to the humane society. I kept taking him back and they kept doing more tests. not finding any more than the initial diagnosis. They suggested moving him to a place where he could be monitored over night and I said to wait and see how the day went. It had been my intention to bring him home, care for him myself and then have him seen by a holistic vet the next day. My daughter was handling things while I was at work. Well, they called her and told her he was better and they were going to keep him there overnight, even though he couldn't be watched. By the time she reached me at work, they were closed for the night. The next am he'd gotten worse and I never had a chance to take him elsewhere. They also tried to get my daughter to authorized them to put him to sleep and they falsified the medical records, saying that I declined to transfer him. No one should ever take a pet to these people. And they won't even refund my money.

The Banfield in Deptford, NJ killed my dog, Missy then fasified her records too to cover it up and blame it on her heart condition when it was their negligence that killed her. I hope you reported them to the state veterinary medical board. Sorry for your loss, I know how you feel since they did it to my dog.
