Banfield Pet Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona - I was BULLIED!!!

2.6
Details
I took my dog to a Veterinarian hospital on November 3, 2014 for boosters as well as a Rabies shot. They admitted the shots to my dog as well as checking her out. Everything was perfect. I knew my dog was acting weird so I wanted a second opinion, I went to Banfield. They immediately told me, my dog had Rabies, they needed to rule out Valley fever as well as do a lot of tests which would cost over $500.00 dollars. The Vet then came in and told me she reported me TODAY to the county so I don't sue her if my dog turns up with rabies. I asked her if she even knew how dogs get rabies cause if she did then there is no way my dog has had it. I paid my bill and left. I then called the vet I went to 2 days prior and explained what had happened. How could this vet check my dog out with no problems and Banfeild tell me my dog has rabies and report me to the County???

You say everything is perfect, but in the same sentence say your dog is acting weird. 'Weird' is far from perfect......what is the full story here?

You are not making sense.

If your dog had not been up to date with vaccines before getting vaccinated 2 days ago & was exhibiting abnormal mentation/neurological signs then yes rabies would be on any decent vets differential list. A vaccine doesn't work instantly.

The only definitive test for rabies to to submit a sample of brain tissue, so no test can be done while a pet is alive to rule it out. Testing for other possible causes of signs could involve expensive labwork (no labwork is free) Also, depending on your state/country your vet could was likely required BY LAW to report any animal exhibiting clinical signs that could be consistent with rabies, because it is a zoonotic (can be passed to humans) disease, she could be legally liable if she didn't report it actually.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona - Customer Service horrible

Have been taking my dog to Banfield for last year in Plainville CT. Last few months have been taking my pet for a serious problem he has been having. Was told twice that he had ear infection and was given medicine and ear swab was taken. Moose was not getting any better so finally in desperation I took him to another vet and he has a very serious infection in his head....NOT HIS EARS so therefore being treated incorrectly for past months has put him in a serious situation. Everytime I have visited Banfield, the customer service is terrible. Everytime I have called to get my dog in because of an issue with him, I am immediately told "no appointments open today, but you can "drop" him off and we will look at him between appts...I am not looking for grooming, I am looking for medical treatment because of a problem. One instance recently I had a vet who was filling in at Banfield that day. She proceeded to tell me she didn't know what was wrong with him...that was end of appt !!! I have voiced my opinion directly by phone to supervisor at that location. Of course that was two days after I made initial call to end my relationship with this hospital and was told by tech that she did not know what day her supv was working. All in all horrible customer service and more important the care of my pet was not taken serious or the vets that are there are not capable of treating animals

I had years of good experience with Banfield until fairly recently when they became corporate under new policies. They hire very inexpeienced vets, interns, and only allow for their lowered quality of corporate policy. They baited and switched me with their wellness...

This is a letter that I thought I never would have to write. We have used Banfield Hospital in Oviedo, FL for our pet cat, Prince, ( he is a Tonkanese) since he was 7 months old. Our experiences with the staff there was positive and the doctors were competent and...

First of all, I am sorry about your cat, this is heartbreaking. My healthy cat died during a dental cleaning, just three days ago, and since then I have read a lot about the procedures at Banfield.

Like you, I was a little surprised at the initial exam that they did not do everything in front of me but instead took the cat out of the room. Now after the dental cleaning, I am finding out that there is a lot wrong at Banfield "pet hospital" and their procedures are flawed.

Because of what happened to me, I am going to do whatever I can to let people know so they don't make the same mistake I did by trusting them. Thank you for posting your review, it will help.

I am very sorry this happened to you too. When I looked into why my cat died, I found that the vital signs of the pet are not being closely monitored.

There is one individual who is responsible for both the teeth cleaning and monitoring the pet. If that person is busy cleaning, or in my case left the room to call me about a newly discovered cavity, they are not watching the patient. The vet who was assigned to my pet said the equipment slipped off...evidently it was not noticed so my cat was not receiving oxygen and died.

This lack of concern or failure to adequately staff the procedure rooms when a pet is under anesthesia is a huge flaw in their system. Evidently not enough animals are losing their lives to warrant adding additional staff.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Newbury Park, California - I have nothing to say but good things.

5.0
Details
I take my 3 dogs to the Newbury Park location in California. I only have Dr. An take of my dogs. Every time I go there the staff take such good care of my pets. They love going there. The staff always greets me with a smile and can't do enough to help me. They answer all my question with care and concern. As For Dr. An I love her so much for loving and taking good care of my pets. I would follower her where ever she goes. She use to be in Westlake Village which was only 5 minutes from my home. Now she has moved and is 30 minutes from my home, but I followed her anyway. She is a great doctor and a great person. You are lucky to have her and her staff.

It's good to see something positive for a change! I also love Banfield, and so does my senior rescue dog, Domino.

She loves all the attention when she goes in for her exam. She has lots of problems, but they always make sure to take great care of her!

You do realize that this is a complaint page. The (some of)people here have had their pets killed by Banfield.

It means absolutely nothing to them that you think they are just peachy. They killed my healthy beagle and cost me thousands of dollars- your gleeful review just *** me off

I received the money back with a contract for me to sign away my rights. I tore up the contract and cashed the check.

In the records were more slanderous and defaming remarks. This is highly unprofessional.
