Banfield Pet Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia - My health chichua died during teeth cleaning

My healthy 9yr old chichua died during her teeth cleaning. This wasn't her first time getting a dental cleaning. Normally it would go fine. Doctor said this time he did one side of the mouth and turned her over, and she started to regain conscious so he turn up anesthesia. He step and away and said the assistant said her heart stopped. He said he preformed cpr. She was injected twice with the drug too restart her heart. But nothing. "Sometime these things happen."The doctor said. I did everything I was suppose to too take care my dog (my baby). This is devasting. I allowed the to do a norcrospy on her. After this what do I do now? Do I sue banfield. I feel he shouldn't left her and stepped away from her while on antheisia.

Yes , Please take action now.

I just had the same experience here in Atlanta .

What the person below says is true, there is always a risk of death with anesthesia, even in an apparently healthy young pet & even in animals that have done well under anesthesia before. It is not something that should be undertaken lightly for this reason.

Now it may or may not be that you have a case to sue.

You need to request a FULL copy (including all anesthesia/cpr records) of your pets medical records & take them to a laywer who has some knowledge of medical malpractice/veterinary malpractice. IF it turns out that the Dr gave any inappropriate doses of anesthesia or left your pet unattended (or only under the supervision of an unlicensed nurse) then you may have a case. You may also need sworn statements from the person/s that told you he left your pet unattended.

This can be really tricky because if they work for Banfield they could be at risk of getting fired for providing that statement.

Good luck getting to the bottom of it, I hopewhatever you find brings you closure & peace

AVOID BANFIELD AT ALL COST. Their incompetence cost my dog his life. Our story: My dog has been on the Banfield Wellness plan for over 10 years. Back in 2008, he had a problem with an obstruction in his digestive system that Banfield failed to diagnose. After spending...

Not only do I want a full refund for not only the emergency "care" we received, but for my 10-year investment in the Wellness Plan. But more importantly, I want Banfield to change its branding that positions it as a full-service veterinary hospital.

Banfield Pet Hospital - Excellent Pet Care at Banfield

I have two dogs and take them to Banfield Pet Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga on Haven and foothill. I am always greeted with a friendly representative and a caring Veterinarian. I have tried Veterianian's with their own practice and also have taken my pets in the past to CVA Pet Hospital in Montclair. I can not even compare the services that my pets have received without sounding like I am complaining, but only to say that I highly recommend Banfield Pet Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga for those of you who like myself regard your pets as part of your family. Keep up the great job Banfield your the Best:)

Banfield Pet Hospital - Morty's flea trama

This place did not cure my dogs flees and it cost me 214.00 They insisted in their 'First Shield' brand. Clear coat is only working for 10 days and is a huge rip-off. I should have known better, I was surprised to find Banfield at PetSmart; if I did I wouldn't have walked in. Everything in PetSmart is to expensive. They overbook, therefore giving each pet less time, and people complain. Other people on this site, complain that hospitals state they are booked and try to schedule out a few days. It seems either way the hospital tries to control a large flow of pets, someone is going to be unhappy.

Banfield Pet Hospital - Limp Check Review

I took our family member Dakota to Banfield to have him checked for a limp. He was vibrant and playful dog. The banfield vetanarian proscribed Rimadly. They do not tell you about the possible side effects. They did blood work which was completely normal. After starting the drug he started to have issues 3 days later so I took him back to Banfield rather than run blood tests again she gave him a shot of the same drug. He had to be rushed to an emergency vet where they took him off the drug. The drug completely destroyed all his platelets and red blood cells. We tried everything to save him. I cannot tell you how hard it was to watch him slowly die over a 4 week period. Banfield claims no responsibility for there actions.
