Uncaring Services Review

They don't clean waiting/patients room very well or even at all they definitely don't get behind the doors, our pets will get sick because of their laziness and uncaring nature, and they make a ton of money from us!!!!

Banfield Pet Hospital in Houston, Texas - Poor service

We took our new rescue yorkie to Banfield three days ago. She was diagnosed with heart worms and we were advised that treatment would be well over $1200. We decided to seek a second opinion and received a $700 estimate for the same service. The vet at the second clinic was much more competent than the vet at Banfield. It seemed like all they wanted was our money, rather than proper treatment of our new pet. We were given a prescription to fill by our new vet. We took it back to Banfield to have it filled and they would not fill it since they weren't the writer of the prescription.

I think its a little late for any legal actions. However, if there is any personal injury sustained due to a surgical procedure that has been performed by a doctor.

As long as you can prove the and have medical documentation the infection/injury was caused due to negligence.

You in fact can pursue legal action and recover the costs additional medical costs you incurred due to the doctors negligence that initially performed the surgery either a small claims court personal suit filed directly against the actual doctor or a suit filed against the medical facility where the surgery was performed. An attorney would be able to advise you of the best route to take in order to recover your financial losses and undue emotional distress.

I was initially happy here, but we will now go to a different vet. I took my puppy in to be neutered today and they tried to sell me several additional services including anal gland clean out! When I asked what that was and why I would pay for that, I was told that...

Wow you're really complaining about them offering your pet preventative care? Obviously you always have the right to say no, BUT when they are only recommending what is best for your pet its because they genuinely care about your pet.

When your pup's anal gland becomes ruptured I hope to see another horrible review about how they never "explained" the significance of it and how all they want is money to fix it.

Additionally if baby teeth do not come out naturally it can cause significant damage to your pet while their adult teeth try to come in as well. YOUR WELCOME!

Took my little 10 lb dog in for a limp. They said watch the limp as she has a MILD problem with her back but she really needed a tooth pulled. OK so I made an appointment to have her tooth pulled. The very next day after surgery she started having seizures (she...

Banfield Pet Hospital - Took my dog for a regular exam and rabbi shot

scheduled to drop her off at 8am for 11 am pickup. No one called so I called. 3 times. was eventually told she would be ready at 4pm. Went to get her at 4 and they said she was not ready. I insisted they give her back. they brought her out and she had urine all over her lower half. she had been in a crate for 8 hours and was sitting in her own urine! I will not take her back there and am cancelling her insurance. called to cancel the insurance and was told can not cancel can just not renew next February. This is June! After having had the policy for years....unbelievable.

This kind of stuff is why with the exception of surgery, I never leave my dog at the vet alone. I always stay with her while she gets her shots, checkup, etc. It's so scary to think that someone you should be able to trust with your best friend would neglect or abuse them but it happens way too often.

Banfield Pet Hospital in San Antonio, Texas - Incompetency/misleading practices

Took our dog to be treated for an illness. Was told that the cost would be around $300. Was then told we could sign up for the wellness plan and everything but the prescription would be covered and only have to pay $70 when we picked him up. Then they called to tell us it would be $200, then told another price?? This was after the reception talked to a manager to verify the information on pricing. Needless to say we cancelled the plan, picked up our dog and payed close to $300. Will never visit this Banfield again. They need to hire competent employees who know what they are talking about and can perform the job accurately. Very disappointed will not return.

It's funny how you put you lost $300. They rendered services, you paid for them.

Why are people thinking vet medicine is free? And why do people forget that those working there are human beings.

We all make mistakes, even you anonymous.

Pay for the service you received if you don't like it go somewhere else or better yet don't own pets if you can't afford them.

I'm sure at your job you don't give people discounts over "mistakes" or even free services. Why should they?

I'm not sure why you think that paying $30 a month entitles you to any and all veterinary services for free. Yes it is for an animal, but now that does not make xrays or medication any cheaper.

And when one doctor is working alone and they are fully booked with appointments and treating sick pets they tell you to go to the ER becuase they simply cannot take on any more cases and provide the necessary care for all the animals under their supervison. Try to think about that before you decide to start blaming a stressed out, underpaid veterinarian bc they cant see you imediately and provide you with $1000 worth of diagnostics and treatment for free.

Banfield Pet Hospital - Service Cancellation Review from Youngsville, Louisiana

Bandfeild is not a pet hospital for emergencies . Only appointments only . Found that out the hard way . My dog had passed away with 3 months left on my plan which I had taken him to bandfield previously in the past month for other issues that were going on and when I called to cancel my plan they told me I would not be able to I would still have to make the payment to weigh out the office visits that wee consumed while my dog was living . I asked them how is that possible if I pay monthy for this service ? Their response was you are still responcable for the charges because each month it just basically goes into a fund of all the times you have used the "wellness plan" so I had an outstanding balance of $503 for one visit . And will be paying this until the end of the year on a dog that is no longer living . The whole plan is BS and they don't disclose this information anywhere... I've looked ! Very upsetting !
