Published on Oct 12, 2013 Banfield overdosed my dog with a sedative. It stopped her heart. She had heart disease and should never have been sedated. She also had fluid in her lungs. She was sedated so she could be held by the hind legs and shaken. $500 is added to your...

This is truly getting quite sad. Like VMD states below I have seen this posting multiple times, each time with subtle difference in the 'story' readers are being told.

There have been some very well written & polite explanations by actual doctors as to why medically it seems like the vets tried an appropriate treatment but unfortunately could not save the pet likely due to a very serious, chronic illness. But this poor lady just buries her head in the sand, refuses to listen to any of the logical responses & chooses to keep seeking attention/sympathy/a frivolous lawsuit???

If any family members out there keep reading/seeing this they need to have a professional intervene before she hurts herself. Seriously, this reeks of depression/mental imbalance.

I took our dog Earl to Banfield in Oct. 2013 for weight loss and excessive drinking and peeing. We knew he probably had Diabetes and thought we would have a vet who would help us. We had recently taken both dogs to Banfield in Baton Rouge secondary to ease of...

I was pressured by Dr. Huizinga and David Giller repeatedly, and asked to sign documents that I didn't did. I was coerced and criticized and asked why I couldn't be more like Patrick Pounders, who was a much better employee. My resume speaks for itself. I have had...

I brought my cat of 15 years to your establishment the beginning of October because I noticed she wasn’t eating and she kept pawing at her mouth. As a concerned pet owner I brought her there where she was seen by Dr. Reed whom told me to treat her with Clavamox for...

It is quite odd how Dr. Howard was the vet you trusted (you were more comfortable with him and he was more knowledgeable) and then, all of a sudden, the vet you blame for everything because he didn't do the procedure.

You can't mandate that a certain doctor perform a procedure despite your alleged request.

The cat wasn't eating, had periodontal disease, had a heart murmur, and I find it quite strange that you don't provide the result of the biopsy in your rant (as I'm sure it showed that you cat had cancer). Tell the whole story or just don't speak.

Boomer was outside running around like normal. When I called him to come inside, he was on our back deck, which is about 5 inches off of the ground. As he stepped down, he yelped and hopped a few steps. Right away, I noticed something was not right with him. He...

I believe you. The vet hurried you out the door, and the others dismissed your concerns.

Some people here are heartless or work for that soulless company. I hope you adopted another dog, and if not, do so. So many need homes.

One day, your Boomer will be waiting for you on the other side. Happy, healthy and in no more pain.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Florence, Kentucky - Cannot cancel new pet plan after 2 weeks

OK service and care may be good, I am not sure. I tried to cancel a new plan after 2 weeks no longer having this pet. You must call Oregon state to cancel. There is never an answer, on hold 10-15 minutes a day, some days more if I try through lunch. I even tried going to local Banfield hospital and had receptionist call, she tired of waiting on hold. (no treats for either of us) A week later I e-mailed them, They spit back the same no-one answer phone number. I tried again 10-15 minutes over several days. Still no answer. I'm the honest guy trying to pay and cancel, simple, no barking, no seat chewing. I must now change my credit card to stop this cancel SCAM!

We had the same thing happen to our dog. He was hit by a car after my daughter just spent money on grooming and his physical...

it was so sad. I cried when I called them to cancel, I don't know how they understood what I was saying. They were so nice and understanding and they reduced the amount, and I still had to finish out the annual plan, but it was nice that they would do that. I did sign up for a yearly plan.

When I had to cancel my other dogs plans, due to financial issues and going on disability, they also gave me a discount to finish out the plan, but luckily it was near the end of the plan renewal. I have always had a good response from Banfield, and they worked with me when I couldn't afford to pay the extra outside of the plan for my pet by making payments. Even when my baby bull dog wasn't a member, they helped and tried to save her life, and they only charged me for the ephinephrine meds, and not the procedure to resuscitate her and open her airway. They even packaged her for burial.

I truly could not have asked for a better hospital. I guess it depends on the location.

I have a similar problem with Banfield, which by the way is owned by a shady company, Mars candy. My dogs have been enrolled in their wellness plans for over 6 yrs..

Then, a couple of weeks ago, my best friend had to be euthanized at Banfield's and when I called to cancel his plan, I was told he had to remain on the plan for another 10 months. In other words, they want to get paid for providing service(?) for a dead dog!

:(

After a few months I will cancel by stopping payment. Let the collector call!!!

Don't change your CC because they will send your info to collections and it will negatively impact your credit. You have to wait longer than 10-15 minutes, unfortunately.

Just set aside a time when you know you aren't busy, put the phone on speaker, and do something else for 30 minutes - like clean or cook! Not exactly great customer service, but with their cancellation line 10 minutes is not going to get you connected

Banfield Pet Hospital killed my Chihuahua because they used an old method of removing Edema fluid
Banfield sedated my dog to turn her upside down and shake her to remove fluid from her lungs, it stopped her heart. I don't have proof her heart stopped, but reviving your pet adds another $500, so it could be a way of making money for the payroll. I did witness...

When an animal is neutered their "balls" are removed. So their balls could not have been "swollen" if they weren't there.
