In February of this year, I took my 10 year old Toy Fox Terrier in for dental cleaning. I also pointed out a small growth on my dog that I was curious about. I had it biopsied and was told that I would be called with the results. Before leaving, I was pressured into...

Banfield sends all samples to a lab the same labs other vets in the area use. It sounds unfortunate :( but I wouldn't blame the hospital.

Banfield Pet Hospital is a shady practice all throughout. Granted there are some locations and maybe doctors that can be okay but overall the company as a whole does what it can to rip more out off the customer than is necessary. The wellness plan in my opinion is just...

Don't take your pet to these vets! I took my 13 year old domestic shorthair male cat to the Banfield in Peoria, AZ because he had a loose front tooth - it was sticking out over his upper lip. They recommended an extraction and dental cleaning. I could not afford the...

probably the dr had nothing to do with the dental, when i worked for a banfield for 2 years the dentals were all done by techs unless they needed a dr to do an extraction because the techs arent allowed to do those. thats why their dental cleanings are so chaep, drs dont do them.....techs do. also they hire untrained and unlicensed techs because they have to pay them less then expect them to do things they arent fully trained to do but the drs dont have time to help or train them because they see too many pets and are always busy

Got call to bring dogs in for checkup 7/29/13. Took dogs in 0745 7/30 and left. Had received two calls about renewing policy 7/29. Got another 7/30 shortly after 12 noon. They had not treated dogs as they used up money on current policy so I need to renew. Went and...

I attempted to cancel my optimum wellness plan that I signed up for with Banfield. Why? Well, the banfield hospital employees do the bare minimum when it comes to helping you and your pet. I don't expect to be showered in gold, but a little customer service goes a long...

Somebody lied to you, that is not a new policy we have. You have every right to stay with your pet and if the hospital refuses that then you need a new hospital. Im sorry you and your kitties had such a terrible experience :(

Banfield Pet Hospital Woodbridge - 4 hour wait with sick dog

I have a Banfield Wellness plan for my dog. I usually use the Banfield in East Brunswick, too busy to see my dog when I called at 4:15 p.m. Told to go to another store, Woodbridge was closest. Called there and was told I had to be there by 5:00. Got there at 4:40. My dog had diarrhea and was vomitting. I was seen at "8:15" p.m. Almost 4 hours later! The staff was unfriendly, the place was dirty. People with appointments were waiting over 2 hours. Something is seriously wrong with this place. After waiting four hours, all they really wanted to do was sell me services my dog did not need. My dog received a shot for $67, which had I known it would not have happened for vomitting. However, we waited 4 hours with no vomitting. Horrible place, unfriendly staff, dirty conditions. I will never use this location again, and when my plan is up I am out!

1. The poor employee's were probably not in the best mood at that time of night because they are supposed to leave at 7pm, so they are all having to stay late - probably because their manager is one of the ones who just 'tells everyone to come in' meaning that they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overbooked & fed up. these hospitals have high staff turnover because everyone is always overworked/over stressed so the quality of medicine can suffer if you have lots of untrained nurses/young inexperienced vets

2. The hospitals that run best/most on-time/keep good quality staff are the ones that don't just take in everything. Once their appointment schedule is full then it's full. They recognize that there is a maximum number of animals than can realistically be seen & given enough time to do good medicine with. The downside of that is that if you have a sick pet you may have to wait a few days to be seen.

I would use Banfield for basic preventative care/surgery since you can schedule that ahead of time if you have a good hospital like option 2 where things run smoothly then have another vet/nearby emergency hospital for more urgent things if you can't get it.

Your choice.

my wife used to be a vet at this company. they were always stressed out and having to see too many walk ins which meant theycould only spend a few mins with each pet because there are too many pets each day.

if something was really sick and took more time then all the pets seen after that were seen late.

the stress of this and the owners always complainingabout having to wait is why she left. bad business practices 7 too much complaining by everyone mean a high vet turnover

Just try walking into a human hospital & see how long you have to wait? Everyone always calls up & wants to be seen straight away/the same day.

You can get in trouble/people *** if you turn anything away so that means that you ALWAYS end up with 2x too many patients so the wait will be hours long because the poor vet has to fit everyone in. unless the hospitals hire more vets or turn away pets without appointments then it will always be like that.
