Banfield is by far the worst vet I have ever been to. The wellness plans are a total sham. Every visit, I've had to fight to get the vet to perform the most routine tests that are promised in the plan and even then, they find loopholes to charge you far more that a...

I will never use or recommend Banfield ever again. It is a total sham!

They only treat and vaccinate your dog one time not twice. Not the way you care for your dog. If you even mention you are not going to renew the contract, they do not want to talk to you further. The way it is explained your dog will be vaccinated twice in that year, not true at all.

I plan on letting the Better Business Bureau know what a sham it is. They do not care about treating your dog unless you sign up for another year. Ridiculous. The staff was no help when I tried to get my dogs shots with 5 days left on my contract!

They said it was a few days too early! Ridiculous!

No more. Don't use them!

Banfield Pet Hospital in Brentwood, Tennessee - Mis Diagnosis just about killed my dog

Both vets on two separate weekends treated my dog.. both missed the real diagnosis. Overspent on treatment that did not improve the dogs health. Only after seeking another opinion was that a treatable diagnosis was set in motion. dog is recovering but had I not sought another opinion my animal would have died, all because they failed the primary responsibility to properly treat my animal. There was more focus about enrolling in the Pet Wellness ( Complete was of $$$) vs. finding out what was wrong with my animal If there were Animal malpractice I would file a claim. I am also boycotting the Pets Mart associated with this hospital.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Chicago, Illinois - Cat check up

We brought our cat in for a check up. they said that they needed to take blood and urine samples. He was fine bringing him in.they said he is an old cat and needs to have these test done . We then brought him home waiting for results. On Sunday the cat was falling over and was in severe pain. We brought him back, they took him into the back and came back and told us we had to put him to sleep.Very cold hearted people.the techs are running the whole place.I don't think the doctors watch these untrained helpers who take the tests, now my cat is dead two days later.

@kml:

"they took him into the back and came back and told us we had to put him to sleep"

Um it says they told them he had to be put to sleep. Nowhere does it say they put him to sleep without the owner's consent.

Regarding someone putting your cat to sleep......You should sue. I am so sorry for your loss.

The people there CAN NOT just put your cat down, without YOUR CONSENT!!!!! You have to SIGN a paper saying you give your permission to do this. And am I wrong or did you say the TECHS did this? ONLY a Dr.

of VET medicine can do this procedure. You need to see a lawyer.

Very simple - my wife and I were never explained anything or shown anything in writing regarding the automatic renewal when we signed for our dog to be treated. After only one routine check up with our dog, we have been given a bill for $1,224.57 after we asked to...

Aussies CAN be more sensitive, but before you go jumping to conclusions and slandering a Vet (by name too, not OK unless you have proof - you can end up getting in legal trouble for that) you really need to be sure you have all the right info.

1. Does YOUR particular pet have this gene defect (is confirmed with special bloodwork, sent to an outside laboratory, it will not show up on a regular CBC/Chem).

If she does not then all this is a moot point & useless guesswork.

2. Do you know what dose they used? I would suggest that before you make the very serious accusation of a licensed medical professional overdosing your pet that you get a hold of the records and verify if this was done?

3.

Also be aware that even a perfectly healthy pet, with no genetic defects at all can have an adverse reaction to anesthesia. Just like people can. No medications are 100% risk free, even something as benign as aspirin can be really dangerous to the wrong individual.

That is why you sign a surgical consent form before any procedures - the risks are listed on there & you really should read it & ask questions before the procedure if you have concerns.

I hope she is feeling better soon, but please be careful not to just look for a scapegoat when nothing may have been done wrong, that is not a fair thing to do.

Banfield Pet Hospital in San Diego, California - Contracts

Be careful not to put your name as a emergency contact and help set up a contract for either a family/friend. They automatically put you as a co-signer and use your debit/credit card as the primary payee. Calling corporate will do you no good and they will not release contract information to you EVEN if they state you as a co-signer. Most common answer to every question is " Sorry can not help you"...very unprofessional, uncommunicative, rude, close minded individuals I have ever encountered...bottomline is your dollar in your pocket. Look for other companies to do business with AND check reviews before getting care for your pet.
