Banfield Pet Hospital in Irving, Texas - Banfield First Shield - DO NOT USE

Banfield in Euless, TX, sold me First Shield flea treatment. After 2 weeks, the fleas were worse. Vet's assistant convinced me to keep using it. Gave dog a 2nd treatment. After 5 days, fleas were worse. Gave her a bath, fleas got better. 1 week later, the groomer said it was the worst flea infestation she had ever seen and that clearly the treatment is feeding the fleas. I googled and found a class action lawsuit against the makers of First Shield. The product will kill your dog but not the fleas. My dog started pooping blood yesterday. I am scared.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Rochester, New York - Madison WI Banfield worst vet ever more worried about money than they are the pet!!

They tried to charge me twice for a procedure they didn't treat right the first time, i had to walk away i'm not made of money and thats what they treat you like. My cat had an abscess in his mouth i got it treated and they tried to charge me for re check after the procedure, after a week or so it didn't improve, then told me it was my fault that they didn't inform me of how to properly take care of him @ home and i was going to have pay for the procedure again, they charged me for a e collar but turned out the one they put on him wasnt doing its job in the first place and told me i had to get another one, i then got the report and they do nothing but say how horrible i was and loving vet they were b.s.. So all in all they tried to get over on me for money, and defame me as a pet owner, the vet was lucky i didn't get physical w/ her... She also failed to mention to me that my cat had another wound next to the abscess and this could have also been a cause for the 2nd procedure.

It is not pet insurance. the wellness plans are preventative care plans that provide your pet services that each pet needs.

Every pet can use a dental cleaning, therefore a dental cleaning is included. Not every pet needs extractions, therefore extractions are not included.

Just the same as if you have a diabetic pet. A glucose curve is not included in every PREVENTATIVE plan, because not every pet is diabetic and on insulin.

My best friend in the world, my companion, and my soul mate (my cat) went in because he wouldn't stop vomitting. Although I was able to hold him before, Banfield no longer allows owners to hold, touch, look at, or pet their animal once inside the room and placed on the...

I am so sorry for your terrible experience. I am very familiar with a Banfield in a different area and I can assure you they are not all like the one where you and your cat had such poor service.

That said, unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of consistency with this chain that has become too large for its own good. There are some wonderful people at this location, a few not so great. It should be the same care at every one of their hospitals, and it certainly is not. Since being taken over by the giant conglomerate, Mars, inc., money has become the driving factor instead of care and compassion.

Since I have been familar with Banfield for a few years, I know what it was like before this became such a problem. A number of the wonderful people I mentioned are seeking employment elsewhere because of this.

The doctors who are good, compassionate and care about their clients and their pets are constantly under fire and condemned for not "making their numbers." Private practices can certainly be more expensive, but they are usually run differently and are most often in a position to give more consistent, quality care. I truly feel for you and your kitty and wish the best for both of you.

Why would you go to the Pets'Mart manager. They two companies have nothing to do with each other.

Your just being a baby because you don't how how to take care of a cat. Im sure YOU didn't take care of it via the proper discharge paperwork.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Orlando, Florida - Insurance with Banfield: BEWARE

Yes, I was robbed by Banfield/ Petsmart insurance. I initially got my dog a more expensive insurance because she will need surgery to fix her. 2 years later, I called Banfield and ask if I can downgrade and the girl said yes. Ok, she gave me a price of $136.00 for the year. Supposedly the minimum coverage is about $18.00/ month so I multiplied that by 12 mos, I said $136.00 is cheaper so I paid for the whole year instead. I thought I made a great deal. When I received my credit card statement, I noticed that they are still billing me so I called PetSmart and told the supervisor that I already paid for the year, so why are they still charging me. GUESS What..... Without me knowing it and them telling me, I did not realize I was paying for a penalty charge because I am changing my insurance not in the anniversary date.....I was fuming.... I said I am not ***, why will I try to save 2-3 dollars/ month to get charged $136.00. Of all company, they can not make any changes. I said you just robbed me. Just a precaution, always ask when your anniversary date is before cancelling anything.

Are you sure you were paying a penatly? Or was that the downpayent?

I know I have that same insurance, and I believe I made a downpayment of $136, and then paid the montly payment of $21/month. It sounds like the same thing you just described, but might have been misinformed of what the charges actually were.

Its not insurance is a bulk deal on Treatments and shots. If you read you contract it spells out exactly what you get.

Anything not listed there is extra. You do get free vet consultations and highly discounted medication.

I totally agree, their methods of handling cancellation/changes on this insurance is not worth signing up for it in the first place. It should have clued me in two years ago when I was made to feel like an uncaring and brutal dog owner when I balked at some of their pricing pre-insurance.

The whole thing leaves one with a bad taste in the mouth. There are other options out there.

Banfield insurance is not worth the financial hassles. Buyer beware.

Banfield Pet Hospital Wellness Plan

Banfield Pet Hospital in Tampa, Florida - Benefield Animal Hospital, Brandon Fl.

I purchased an animal wellness policy in April and received good service, until my dog died in October on a weekend.I was truley heartbroken! She past away suddenly on a weekend eve and they were closed so I took her to the pound for disposal. Monday morning I went to inform them of her passing, thinking that they would be sympathetic and consoling. Instead I was told that I still owed the balance of the contract! WHAT A CRUEL AND INSENSITIVE THING TO SAY! My credit report says I am delinquent; I am going to sue! I beleive it to be the only way to get satisfaction. I asked the lady would she continue to pay health insurance if someone in her family died? Her response was, sir, did you not read the contract? It was not airtight and had no provision for a death declaration dismissal. At that time I had the authorization of disposalwith me. I intended to give to them but was totally upset. It has been a few years but I will be vigilante. So beware of this business it is not good.

Why does ANYONE continue to go to any Banfield Pet facility? Doesn't one horror story after another tell you anything?

Isn't it amazing that this business is able to attract consistently inept, rude, and often cruel employees?

Put them out of business! STOP TAKING YOUR BELOVED PETS to this sorry excuse for a 'hospital'.
