Banfield Pet Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - Front Line

I have had my cat Tabby for 12 years now and have been using this on her for at least 5 years maybe longer. I love it. She does great on it. My dog Bruiser (min pin mix) did not tolerate it so i use Trifexis on him. Trifexis is great because its a all in one pill. No longer having to use heart worm, and flea seperatley. I think that each animal is individual just like humans. Some humans are allergic to sulfur where others aren't. As in animals some are allegic to a certain chemical compound where others aren't. No use taking it out on the vets. I used to have a dachsund who was allergic to rabies vaccination. i didnt blame the vets how could they possible have known

Banfield Pet Hospital - Grand Prairie, TX

Do NOT take your pet here!! After spending $300 to have a hematoma removed from my dog's ear, I find it's still there the very next day. I call to ask about it and was told it was normal and I'd have to come in to have the procedure done again. Needless to say, I went to another Vet that told me they couldn't believe that's all they did. Hematoma's are supposed to be stitched back together so that they don't fill back up. I will never be back to Banfield - they care about the $ over the pet.

Doesn't a hematoma occur because of an untreated ear infection? I'm just saying maybe when you noticed your dog shaking his head and scratching his ears you should of treated his ears. Also there are different ways to help treat hematomas and its common for it to recur while being treated

Banfield Pet Hospital in Washington, District Of Columbia - Banfield in Largo MD- wants the Dollar over Dog

I wish I read these reviews earlier. I will tell EVERYONE who has a pet this- and I am forwarding a description of my experience to EVERY pet owner I know. I moved to Maryland from another state and was looking for a vet for my 2 doxies. Banfield was quick to offer me the Wellness program and charge my credit card, but when my male dog had a paw infection a week later they were TOO BUSY to see him. I called for days for an apointment and finally drove to Virginia when the poor dog started limping. Shame on you Banfield!! They wouldn't even let me speak to a vet!! My girl dog is there now for a teeth cleaning and every time they call me back they are adding another charge to her teeth cleaning bill! $45 for a different anesthesia, $200 to get a biopsy of a lump. I thought this pet insurance was for the care of my pet!!! I can't wait to cancel next year!! STAY AWAY from Banfield. Just pay for services that your dog needs and find a vet that's more concerned about the welfare of your pet than making a dollar!!!

I personally work for a Banfield in Florida. But let me tell you this they may have had booked appointments but we always accept walk-ins no matter what you probably just did not want to wait to be seen.

And dont get mad because the Doctor was to busy to speak with you on the phone we do serve other animals and clients its not just all about you we usually will take a message and when the doctor is not running in and out of appointments or performing surgery he or she will call you back sure it may not be five minutes later but our doctors always will call you back to anwser any questions or concerns. And yes other things do come up while your pet is with us that the doctor recommends you do have the choice to say NO. The reason to add another "Anesthesia" is actually a medication called glyco its just in case during her dental cleaning her heart rate starts to drop we can administer this medication to even it out its not always needed but we put it on the treatment plan just in case. And as far as the lump goes the vet can send it out to the lab to see exactly what it is and weither its cancerous or not again you have the option to say NO!

The wellness plan does not cover everything for your pet it is PREVENTIVE CARE it covers things such as vaccines, heartworm test, blood work and etc. We are not there to take all of your money we are there to give your pet the best care we can the doctor doesnt just randomly pick things out to charge they recommend different things but its for a reason so when your pets lump starts growing and growing and turns into cancer you can say wow that doctor was right two years ago to get it checked out!!!

See, this is what I'm talking about. Obviously, this pet owner does not understand that the wellness plan is a way to FINANCE PREVENTATIVE CARE.

It is not insurance, nor does it guarantee the right to an immediate appointment. So many people think the plan is insurance, but it only covers basic preventative care. Everything else is on the customer. Yes, you should read an understand a contract before you sign it, but shouldn't the company (Banfield) do a better job explaining the contract to the client?

Why is it that so many people erroneously think that the wellness plan is insurance?

People seem to have a hard time getting an appointment. What they have to understand is that some veterinary hospitals are a bit like human hospitals in the way that you cannot always make an immediate appointment. I can't call my doctor and demand to be seen in the next week - it takes WEEKS to get an appointment. It's the same way with Banfield.

They are ok for basic preventative care, but a lot of the locations are really inflexible about squeezing in urgent cases (which there are logical reasons for, but also negative consequences). Also, I think a lot of clients are too demanding. We used to get clients who would yell at us that their dog was sick, but they could only come in after 5:30. Well, seeing as we close at 7, that doesn't give us a lot of time to see your pet.

Those evening appointments are often the most booked in advance. People need to be more flexible. If your pet is sick, it's your responsibility to find the time to take him/her to the vet (not saying that this is not what Xena did, I just happen to see this a lot). We can't cancel other people's appointments just because you only have a one hour window that you can come in.

If your pet is throwing up blood and we only have a 2pm appointment available - TAKE IT (or go to the emergency room). Don't wait days to treat the problem because you refuse to alter your schedule.

I know, it's hard to *** work, but that's not Banfield's fault.

Wow...I got off topic on a rant. Sorry!

Thus the best examples of Banfield employees.... The two asswipes who answered this complaint.

No compassion, no concern, it is all about them, and they do nothing wrong! Souless, money grubbing *** is what the lot of you are!

It is messages like this why I would never trust my pets to Banfield. Why would I want to wait up to three or four hours when I can do so, get my vaccinations at wholesale cost at Golden State?

The clinic is packed, but the vet tech is much nicer than any employee at Banfield and does not have an entitled air about them. I want the vet I take my pets to explain what I am doing, and understand what they are checking for. I like someone that adores animals, but can also be personable. If I have concerns I want them addressed, and feel comfortable that my pet is in their care.

Why would I go to Banfield werr you yourselves say training is nonexistent, your over worked, you do not return phone calls, their is no consistency of doctors or employees. Many say it is a revolving door with people in and out, and it is a horrid place to work, and employees take it out on the animals and customers. It seems to me the vets are to busy to propery take the time needed to diagnosis properly, to safely perform surgery, and often rely on untrained staff to perform their job duties. Banfield has horrible customer service, that only care about money.

It makes me laugh they have a charity, I have read that employees pocket that too! They refuse to help animals in need and allow them to die. Wow! Banfield cares only for profit.

If you truly cared, you would clean and sterilize inbetween pets, to stop the spread of disease. But that would take out of Banfield's profits! Look at your holy than thou attitude. Someone needs to slap you off your little high horse.

F Banfield! I hope they go belly up!

Banfield Pet Hospital in Houston, Texas - Banfield Poor Service-Missouri City, TX

I attempted to pick up Heartworm medication for my Corgi on two occasions. First, the employee was talking on the phone and did not acknowledge my presence. After 8 minutes, I left. Came back today and stood at the counter for more than 5 minutes and finally asked someone to go in the back and get help. The person wanted to argue that my dog had not been there since 2009. I explained that she had been coming there for 4 years and was last seen 2 weeks ago. Clearly she thought that I was wrong. I left. Went to the Sugar Land Banfield, got the meds and was told that the MC store probably spelled my dog's name as Dutchess instead of Duchess (the correct spelling). The MC location sucks.

In response to C's comment:

I NEVER stated that I had a problem paying for the procedure, but obviously you did NOT read what I actually typed. My problem was being charged $43.00 for a butt clipping.

A groomer wouldn't even have charged that much. I did not question any of the charges when I dropped my cat off for his dental because I assumed the charges were for bloodwork, anasthesia, etc... regarding his dental.

And for your information, it wasn't clipperburn, my cat's anal gland was actually cut and bleeding profusely and required medical attention. So, before you post a comment and ask me "are you kidding, right?" Perhaps, you SHOULD actually read a post before you post your rude comments.

Like the other person said its not Banfields fault we did not have I/D. Petsmart is the one that keeps it in stock dont blame us. Usually if your NICE we would call another store to see who has it in stock for you and we dont even have to do that.

First of all, you have to call PetSmart to see of they carry the food. Yes, you need a prescription for the food thru Banfield, but you need to make sure it is IN STOCK. PetSmart decides what foods they will carry - Banfield will authorize any presciption food and along as there is a legitamate prescription from a legitamate veterinarian.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Mckees Rocks, Pennsylvania - Banfield made me feel as though my dogs health did not matter

My dog has been seen at the N Fayette (Robinson area) site in Pittsburgh PA for about 2 years, she had an infection which they determined she needed spayed to correct, then she completely could not urinate, ended up at a specialist $3800.00 later she can *** year passes, she stops peeing $7200.00 into the specialist now she can *** again, go to Banfield for follow up to be told the vet I see has been fired, so I see a real nice concerned vet who was filling in, go back again and the new permanent vet and 3 staff workers I have never seen are there, did not get into the vet, left there in tears that this non knowledgable person was trying to talk to me about my dog, I have never been treayed so coldly nor has my dog, of course I leave there hysterical and with a sick dog, do you think anyone called and said "hey maybe there wads a misunderstanding" or "is there anything we can do" NO!!!!!!!!!! how do you have a dog with a medical problem and show no concern, so I filed a complaint, and got an email that I would have a response in 48 hours, well, 72 hours no response, oh and I called them on the 14th (corporate) when this happened and still have not heard back from them, do not ever say the N Fayette location cares about your dog, especially the ill ones, because they do not, ever since the Dr was let go that I had been seeing these years, the place has fallen apart

Wow, "Vet Tech"...You are quite obviously the one who requires some anger management, seeing as how you are so absurdly offended by a consumer's right to post feedback on poor quality service that you would use obscenities and run-on sentences. HA!

For your information, there were no other patients. For your information, your comments only embark on a PIECE of our complaint regarding the services at this Banfield. And quite notably I must point out that you are located in Tampa, FL, over a thousand miles away from this particular location.

So I beg the question: What would you know? Obviously nothing but personal frustration…Next time you would like to defend a consumer complaint, maybe you should cover all aspects of that complaint.
