Banfield Pet Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan - Run, don't walk.....do NOT sign up

Got a new kitty about 4 mo.'s old. Took her to Banfield & signed up for Plan which included spaying. I told them in great detail my reason for signing was for the spaying. On the first visit, they examined her & said I had to wait til next visit for shots. I took her back they gave her the required shots...I was scheduled next for the spaying....When I took her in they said "now she's 6 & 1/2 months and over the limit for the plan spaying" (cut off is 6 months)..So I must pay! What a joke, basically they're getting a year of $$ for basically doing not much other than some shots.

The Banfield I go to gives us the option for these additional items. They offer nail trim, ear cleaning, and anal glands every time.

Yes they are making extra money but they are not a grooming so you don't have to do it. Just say no!

They will price match stuff too. At least mine does

Banfield Pet Hospital in Spring Hill, Florida - Banfield in Gainesville,Fl

I will never bring my pet to Banfield again, I had the rudest doctor telling me that if I had a budget for my puppy's vaccine treatments that I should not be allowed to have a pet because I wouldn't be able to afford the puppy's food, toys, etc. I understand where she was coming from, but that doctor has no idea of my situation and that not all pet owners have to be millionaires, sometimes those millionaires don't give their pet the most important thing which is love and care. I was willing to come back the next week and have the puppy get her treatments slowly because I didn't have enough to pay for all of the vaccines, and I'm sure there were vaccines the puppy probably didn't even need.

You should have adopted an adult dog that would not require the most expensive shots. The doctor was kind of right, maybe you can't afford a puppy, but everyone should be able to have a pet of some kind.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Washington, District Of Columbia - X-employee

Banfield expects there employee to be machines, they want you to work 12 plus hours a day with only a 1 hour brake. And to perform every thing to profection. They do not allow for any mistakes, There were times when I was sick and they knew it, yet they expected me to wok a 12 hour shift. Their vets do not care for the care of the pets, only the money that they can make. I have worked at 5 diffrent offices. The corpporate office care nothing about the pets, all they care about is money. Now of the 5 offices I worked at only 1 cared more about the pets then they did about the money. I would reccomend that you find a diffrent hospital to care for your beloved pets, I have

Just FYI, as a vet, you can't just give any random antibiotic. Human practitioners often blame veterinarians for the creation of resistance in bacteria.

Cefpodoxime is the only antibiotic that works for certain skin conditions now due to incorrect use of the other antibiotics. Had she given you another type of antibiotic, not only would it not have worked (and you would end up spending more money on more antibiotics... then you would be complaining even more that you didn't get what you wanted), but she and you would have also been the cause of further resistant strains of bacteria. Before you or anyone else judges a veterinarian on his or her choice of treatment, remember that that person has gone to school for 8+ years to practice.

The fact that she prescribed cefpodoxime and didn't back down proves to me that she's up to date on her literature and refuses to cause more of an issue with bacterial resistance, which people like you who aren't educated on the subject cause.

Next time, before you start throwing blame and trying to bring a practitioner down through social media with your lack of knowledge on a subject, try to use some empathy and think of what other people who don't know the full story will assume: that a veterinarian (who in fact made a correct and informed decision) shouldn't be trusted with their pet. I hope that people who deal with you would also have that same empathy.

I am still missing ashley,I needed to move on because my two other babies needed a good and caring vet.I was fortunite enough to have a lengthly conversation with a vet that is part owner where ashley was so physically injured.I must say he has a Banfield hospital in Peoria on 99th Dr.Rawhls impressed me as does his staff so I have taken my pets there, and I am pleased.but i did make some very demanding request, also i stated do not treat every pet parent as ***.With all the informantion at their fingertips.if a person cares they will react..

Banfield Pet Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina - Banfield Animal Hospital inc......

I had to get rid of my new puppy due to me and my kid being allergic. I had the puppy to banfield 3 times. She got 2 shots each time. They told me on the first visit I should get their plan cause it saves money for spaying. I said what does it cost and they said 33.00 a month. Well I paid for 2 months. Plus the visits cost me another 250.00 for "shots". Well I gave the puppy to a new owner and called to cancel my puppies next appointment and they told me I needed to call this 1-888-649-2716 and then this woman told me I was going to have to pay another 400.00 to pay off the plan and that she will mark it as non renewable. I argued with her that I got rid of the dog and had paid for the shots so nothing else should be needed. She told me she would pass my account to their collection agency. They are criminals.

We apologize for any confusion; to clarify our Wellness Plans are preventive services packaged together at a discounted price with the convenience of a 12-month financing option. When a client wants to cancel their plan throughout the year of the package we simply ask they either pay for the services already used at full retail cost or the remaining payments, whichever is less.

In other words, customers who do cancel are not asked to pay for services that they haven't already used. We would like to help resolve your issue but we are unable to identify your account and have someone reach out to you.

We ask that you contact our Wellness Plan Team so we can gather more information on your specific situation. Please call them at 888-649-2716 or email at WellnessPlanRelations@banfield.net.

This story is highly questionable. Banfield lets you cancel the plan for either a) the remainder of the payments due, or b) by paying for what the services you received would have cost at retail value, WHATEVER OPTION IS LESS FOR YOU.

If you paid for 2 months at $33, then you would have 10 months remaining. That would be $330. There's a chance you would owe less than that, too, depending on how many services you used up.

I'm so sick and tired of people like you blaming Banfield for your own ineptitude.

The cancellation policies are clearly stated in the contract you signed! You don't have to like the plan. If you don't like it, don't sign up for it! If you do sign up for it, READ THE CONTRACT!!

It's called personal accountability. Learn some.
