I have been paying for a year now for 2 dogs on the wellness plan. One Vet.

quit so they were short handed and appointments were rescheduled again and again. Then I called with an emergency, not a dyer emergency but still an emergency, my Min-Pin had slipped under the fence in my yard and needed stitches she was not bleeding it was a clean slice. The response I received at 4pm in the afternoon while they were open was "We are not an emergency facility you will have to take your dog elsewhere for emergency treatment. We will not see her here.

Apparently their wellness plan which covers "free" office visits does not include when you need them! I had to take my little girl to another close by clinic where I was welcomed with open arms and happily paid them $245. to fix my Reba's leg.

My dog was the first patient at the Leominster Banfield and I referred many people to them over the last year just to be treated like this!

They are just out to collect your money they do not care about your beloved pets! Do not trust them!

I work for Banfield and this is not our standard. Call the corporate office .

Thank you, I did contact the corporate office that same day and they also assured me that this was not standard and wanted to send me to another Banfield clinic but there was not another one close to me. I ended up canceling my wellness plan and switched vets. :(

I used to work at a Banfield & they always overbook. That means that the vets only get about 10-15 mins per pet, and doesn't give then any time to see emergencies.

If we didnt overbook our managers would complain or report us. It is because the company is greedy.

But don't blame the techs and vets please, they often have no choice at all about the appointments, they just have to try and see everything and keep delays to a minimum so that client a don't complain about having to wait. It sucked to work there and most people leave after a year or so.

They could have very much conveyed their message better. But in most instances, when a one doctor hospital turns away an emergency, it is because they physically do not have enough staff to give that pet the attention and care it needs. Even though it is very annoying, would you prefer the alternative, which is your pet getting sub standard care because of shortage of staff or time?
