Banfield Pet Hospital - Malpractice death of my dog
I brought my poodle Buddy in to the office for a peculiar gaze and what i thought to be a reduction in sight and excessive water drinking , the arab vet's english was so thick with middle eastern accent he was very hard to understand , any how he refused to perform a blood work up on Buddy not once but twice and prescribed him steroids and and amoxicillin , needless to say the dog died on feb 17th 2018 from renal failure and this disaster was started on jan 03 2018 and the cost from another vet was $1900.00 to try to save his life, so i demanded my money back from Banfield that Banfield charged me for killing my dog !that sum was almost $ 800.00 to no avail, the office manager decide it was time to cook the books and produced a phoney blood panel print out when i demanded my money back and learning of my dogs death.Run don't walk from these crooks and incompentends .. my money and our beloved Buddy is gone for ever and there is no recourse.I hope the price is high for the office manager when karma comes and pays a visit., the vet is Dr. Gamal at the Irving Texas store in valley ranch at the market square shopping center, beware.!
Reason of review: malpractice and cover up.
Monetary Loss: $2700.
Preferred solution: Full refund.

My guess is that your Buddy was diabetic which would easily explain both symptoms that you have described ; it is absolutely inexcusable to prescribe any medication without concrete proof/denial of the true nature of the ailment(s).You didn't mention Buddy's age or previous state of health, but a blood panel should have been performed first given those symptoms ; it is no guarantee that treatment would have helped but certainly would have put your mind at ease to have clearly and correctly identified Buddy's issues. Please accept my profound sympathy at the loss of your loved one ; my 13 years old miniature poodle is fortunate to have a great vet and just emerged much improved from having her tonsils and 3 bad teeth removed - I know you would have done anything to help Buddy - because you did !
I am so sorry for your loss. I had a similar experience with vision loss and renal failure and wrote to my stateโs veterinary board.
They have now investigated my catโs care at Banfield for years and expressed shock at the lack of care given that she had all of the signs of this developing.
Official hearing will be in April. We can stop this happening to other pets.
