Little 2 lb dog was attached by 2 very large dogs. Had Banfield Ins.but they were not open yet for this emergency.Had to take the pet to a 24 hr.facility for exam.

Little dog did not survive attack and now Banfield wants to the consumer to pay until contract is over (Oct) and that's 3 more payment. Banfield was called, explained the situation but reiterated about the total contract had to be paid.

This is so hard breaking since the little dog is now gone and why does Banfield have to be so heartless to force the next 3 months of payments. Are they having cash flow problems?

Monetary Loss: $120.

You signed a contract when you put your pet on a wellness plan & if you actually read it you can see that it clearly states that you are responsible for the full 12 months of payments, no matter if the pet is given away, passes away or you decide you don't want to be on the plan anymore. This is because they spread out the cost of the services for the plan (bloodwork/dental/spay or neuter/vaccines etc) evenly over the 12 months of payments even though you might use a lot of the expensive services at one appointment (i.e such as on the day of a surgery) so in reality you have probably used most of the value of the services on the plan already & have the responsibility to pay for them.

As an FYI they always have the option to pay for the balance of the services used in one lump sum instead of paying the remaining 3 months due. Although it is sad about your pet this is a nonsense complaint by someone who just didn't read what they signed.
