I not only have spent extra money with their upsales, but most upsetting is i have a VERY SICK AFGHAN HOUND. WHOS BEEN OVER WEIGHT AND HAD MAJOR COMPLAINTS IVE MADE GO IGNORED.

BECAUSE HER DENTAL CLEANING WAS CANCELLED BECAUSE OF AN ELEVATED LIVER ENZYME. AFTER BRINGING HER TO AN EMERGENCY HOSPITAL AND THEN A REGULAR VET FOR A CONSULTATION. I LEARNED FROM EACH DOCTORS VISIT, THAT SHE NEED NOT HAVE HAD HER CLEANING CANCELLED. IF I HAD NOT HAD A BAD FEELING ABOUT THE DR.

LOUIE CANCELLING I WOULD HAVE SUBJECTED MY BELOVED GIRL TO TESTING THAT WAS NOT WARRANTED BASED ON THEIR TEST RESULTS. I WOULD HAVE SPENT $500.00 AND SUBJECTED NATALIA TO TESTING NOT MEDICALLY WARRANTED. NOW, I HAVE PAID OVER 300.00 FOR THE 2 POST CANCELLATION VISITS AND NOW I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR HER TO HAVE A CLEANING WHICH WAS 900.00 IN JULY, 2014 AND ABOUT 400.00 FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING FOR CUSHINGS DISEASE, I HAVE PAID 54.00 FOUR TIMES FOR HER T4 THYROID TESTING BEFORE ID RECEIVE HER REFILS. IVE NOT ONCE RECEIVED A DISCOUNT ON ANY MEDICATION.

AS A MATTER OF FACT, MY MOM TOOK HER TO A BANFIELD BECAUSE SHE WASNT FEELING WELL FOR ONE DAY AND IT COST ME 95.00 FOR EAR CLEANSER AND POWDER PROBIOTICS, HILLS PRESCRIPTION I.D NOW, HER EAR CLEANSER NEED NOT BE 37.00 HER 8.00 WAS FINE AND THE YOGURT SHE EATS AS TREAT WILL SUFFICE INSTEAD OF 30 PLUS DOLLAR PROBIOTIC POWDER.

1st - learn to type without the CAPS on, it makes you look demented.

2nd - Banfield, as do a lot of other vet hospitals, have very strict pre-anesthesia protocols for safety & liability reasons. If there are ANY abnormalities found they will, and should, postpone a non-emergency surgery to try and diagnose & treat the other problem first.

If they didn't and your pet had compilations or died under anesthesia then you would be mad...right?? Its a no win situation sometimes. People get mad if you cancel to try and prevent an anesthetic complication, but people will also get mad if you 'take a gamble' and do the surgery and then the pet has complications.

3rd - if your pet has a thyroid problem & needs medications they are SUPPOSED to re-check her values before refilling scripts to make sure the dose is still appropriate.

Depending on other age/health factors pets tolerance to medications changes, just like peoples do.

This means that if you did not verify the dose to be correct (at least annually, preferably bi-annually) then you risk under or overdosing your pet, which could be harmful.

These things are all being recommended for the benefit of your pet, please educate yourself before getting mad.

It sounds like you work there and just make excuses for why they rip people off. She should be thankful her dog did not get a dental.

Knowing how incompetent Banfield is, and how many pets they over dosed, and killed.

It was a blessing in disguise. Dealing with a *** like you, is why so many people hate Banfield.

It sounds as if your doggie has preexisting medical issues to begin with Either issuers that weren't treated as soon as you noticed them or perhaps due to your dogs age. Blood testing is usually done for any type of pre surgical procedure to insure the pet's not going to have an adverse reaction while under anastesia.

If a pet has any known preexisting medical conditions found in the blood work results. i.e liver, kidney and or thyroid issues Its in the pets best interest not to be put under anastesia.
