My dog broke his duclaw and I was charged almost $200 for them to cut, clean and bandage. Not even mad about that. These *** told me to come back two days later. Said it would be a quick visit because they were only going to re bandage it. Nope, they said I had to leave him there and then come to find out, they were going to charge me again!!!! Plus ol snaggle tooth at the front desk wouldn’t stop running her mouth on the phone to help me. Just go to your local vet. Rip off

The wellness plan is NOT insurance. When you sign up, it states in the contract you sign that if you cancel for whatever reason before the year is up, you either pay the remainder of the months you owe OR the services you've used, at cost.

Let me break it down.

This is the cost of services WITHOUT the plan.

$40- $50 (depending on where you live) PER office visit

$20- $35 PER vaccine & PER vaccine boosters.

$15- $20 PER deworming

$45- $50 PER fecal exam. $350- $400 for the spay (not sure you got that far, but even if you didn't) $100- $200 per comprehensive exam (you get 2.

one is done the day they sign up and the next at 9mo old) $30- $50 Ear swab Plus 5% or 10% discount on everything not included in the plan. The office visits are free to you BUT that's because you pay monthly. So, if you've used multiple office visits, multiple vaccines/boosters, deworming fecal exams, 1 comprehensive exam & maybe the ear swab. So that's over $500 worth of services and the plan for the year, depending on the level is roughly $400.

Just like a cellphone contract. If you sign up for 2yrs and cancel before the 2yrs you are charged a cancellation fee. As I said, the plan is NOT insurance, it's a wellness plan so they aren't charging for services that you have not used. I worked at Banfield for 6yrs.

I'm sincerely sorry for your loss. What was wrong with your puppy?

If you actually read the contract you signed, it specifically states that it auto renews each year.

So it's not their fault you didn't read it. Nobody would tell you that it doesn't renew unless you renew it.

The only way you have to renew it yourself, is if you pay yearly VS monthly.

Not paying the collection will just affect your credit.

No I don't work at a banfield but I used to.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Richmond, Virginia - Bansfield Animal Hospital

I brought my dog to Bansfield Animal Hospital with a large tumor that became badly infected. She is a black lab and 12 yrs old. She was very sick and running a fever. The vet came in, touched her head, ran her hand down her back, peeked at the tumor and said "she needs surgery" and left. Never let me ask her a thing. She sent in the tech who said "surgery is going to be $1400 and you need to pay it up front. She also brought in papers for her to be put to sleep. We asked if we could pay for the surgery in payments, she said no and handed us the papers to put her down. She pretty much said that being put own was our only option. She IS 12 years old she said. My partner said she wanted her to have antibiotics and pain medicine and we would take her home. They did it, reluctantly. That shot and pain medication was $222. When we got the discharge papers it went on and on about her ears needing cleaning and her teeth needing work and that she was to fat. This vet never looked in her ears or her mouth so I have no idea how she knew these things. She was bleeding from the tumor really bad by the next day and I had changed her dressing at least 6 times over night. She had a fever and was visibly sick. The next morning we decided to take her to another vet who someone told us was good. We went there pretty much expecting to have to put her down. The vet came in an examined her. She said, lets do blood work, and see what it says. She said, what ever we do you can pay for it monthly. Anyway, the blood work came back perfect. Then she wanted to do an x ray to make sure there was no organ involvement with the tumor. We did that and no involvement at all. The entire tumor was just under the skin. She is perfectly healthy otherwise. PERFECTLY HEALTHY. I almost put my beautiful, perfectly healthy, fur baby to sleep because of the incompetence of that other vet. Long story short, she had the surgery, did fine and is coming home tomorrow. I suggest you think twice before you see the vet at Bansfield which is located within Pet Smart. They obviously only care about the money.

Total incompetent, and ***, just shows Banfield sucks!

Banfield is only good for vaccines, not sick pets or surgeries. Their vets are too overbooked (+30 cases a day on average) so they don't get enough time to spend with complicated cases. Use a small local vet that isn't so overbooked & you will bet better care & better quality of medicine.

Call a few local vets in your area or take the dog to a specialty clinic. x-rays should be taken as well as the tumor aspirated to see if cancer cells are present or if its a fatty tumor.

Banfield is fine for general shots and perhaps a check up. Not good for what may become a major surgery procedure.

Banfield Pet Hospital - LIED about what tests would show. Said "necessary" $450 of TESTS for a healthy cat with perfect vitals. Tests were ALL NORMAL. Vet NEVER came to see Lynx, and I was lied to.
My healthy 1 year old Bengal had escaped outdoors, and had twelve hours of diarrhea. I wasn't concerned, but my aunt called to see when we should be, if it continued. I thought I'd just bring him in for a glance, to make sure he wasn't showing some awful symptom I...

You all are not educated in Bengals at all. Bengals are known for having bowel issues, especially loose stool.

The diarrhea was most caused by something he are outside, or the stress of being in a new environment. The doctor simply could have given the cat something to soothe his stomach and facilitate Harding the stool. Basically the cat had a fussy tummy! WTF is up with 450 worth of blood tests?

My vet charges 50 for necessary panel, and 150 for all the other. So, again, Banfield is a SCAM! I also love in a nice area, and it I'd a nice vet office. What Banfield does is unforgivable.

How you defend these idiots for price gorging, misdiagnosing, and ordering medication and testing not needed is outrageous! You all must work for them. Get off your dam phones and do your jobs. Not only are you rude to people in person but continue the rudeness when the complain online.

You all are *** Must be the low pay, the long hours, and just the all around horrible person with low morals you have to have to work there.

Get a life, and leave your victims alone. They have ready been screwed over by you, they do my need to rehash it!

Full refund of costs, in addition to compensation for the explicit lies about what the tests would show, what Lynx needed, that I had to ask repeatedly to actually see a vet, that my request to do the tests one by one was ignored. Egregious treatment.
